Leila's POV

"You know, I think any girl would prefer this to a fancy restaurant." I smile at Blake, who was tucking into his garlic bread and pizza like me.

"I know how to treat a girl right. Speaking of which, I met your friend. I didn't want to say anything yesterday but I will now."

My friend? My mind raced back to my previous friends until I realise that cold fact that, I don't have any friends. "Um, who?"

"Brown hair, big, big green eyes."

I sigh, looking at my lap. "Chase." I mutter to myself, not even bothering to ask because I know it was him. No one has as big as gorgeous green eyes as Chase. "Yeah, is he bothering you?" Blake asks. "He seems like such a screw-up. Seriously though, he's not the type of person you want to be around. So cocky and rude – swanning about like he belonged in the milkshake shop."

My mind falls back to when I was ten, when my teacher said 'What Sally says about Susie says more about Sally than Susie.' I had no idea what it meant back then – but know I do.

"Actually," I begin. "Chase is the one of the best things that has happened to me for a while now. Yes, he's so cocky, but not rude at all. And if I know something about him, he is exactly the type of person I want to be around."

Blake is left quite stunned, his mouth slightly open. "Well then you're just as screwed up as him, Leila. The guy basically threatened to kill me for seeing you the other day."

What? Why would Chase even...? "Oh, tragic. Get over it, Blake. I'm sure you said something just as nasty to him back."

Blake presses a twenty pound note on the table, grabs one more slice of pizza and and stands up. "I see. Between me and that psycho you chose him."

Plink. Another person to add to the list. I leave just as hastily as Blake, but not before classily finishing my meal because – hey, it's free food! Obviously this person on the list didn't impact on my feelings as much as the others.

I suddenly realise something when Blake is gone and I'm eating. I'd choose Chase over... anyone. Damn- I like him.
