Last night • Cody Christian

Chapter 3

"Hey wait up!" I jogged to the five and a half jerk. "What?" He looks at me with confusion.

"Well one, I don't know where you live. Two, if we're gonna work together at least be sympathetic."

"Whatever and we can walk together to my house" he shrugs. "Um okay." I said. "See you in an hour babe." He winked. Please just stop winking it makes me uncomfortable.

School finally finished and i texted my mom i would be home late and i went outside the school where i saw Cody already waiting on me

"About time, you ready?" He rolled his eyes, first he calls me babe and winks at me and now he is being a dick.

I looked in my bag to see if i had everything with me, i guess i'm still not ready. "No i forgot my notebook in my locker. Wait here." I said, pointing my finger at him. I ran back inside going to my locker to get my notebook as i came back i was surprised he was still there i thought he was going to his house already so that he didn't had to wait longer. "I'm ready."

"Finally, you were taking your time back there." He told me. What? We actually have plenty of time what is his problem.

I just ignored him as we start to walk to his place.
He kept walking faster and faster, i had to run a littlebit to keep up to him. "Slow down Cody, seriously." I groaned.

"It's not my fault you need to run a little." he mumbles under his breath.

"Seriously, what's your problem? You've been acting like a dick all day. Give me a break." I stopped in mid-run to catch my breath. He rolls his eyes and continues walking in a fast pace.

"Stop!" I continue while Cody looks pissed off. "Look, I didn't want to this stupid assignment in the first place! But here we are, your the one who keeps calling me babe."

"I had a bad day at practice okay? You happy now?" Their was a long silence between us until he spoke again.

"Let's just go."

"Seriously bad practice." I mumbled under my breath. I guess he didn't hear what i said because he kept walking. We were walking in completely silence right now.

It wasn't an awkward silence as you may think after that fight that just happened. "Were here." He said as he went to the front door to open it.

"You coming?" He asked as he saw that i was still standing in front of his house. "Right." I mumbled as i walked behind him.

"Hi mom." He said as he saw his mom coming into the hallway. "Hi sweetie." She said, how can his mom be so nice and he has to be a jerk. "Is this your girlfriend?" She asked, looking at me. "Um no i'm just a friend of him. We are working together on a project." I half lied.

"I'm sorry, i just thought you were his girlfriend. He never took a girl home." She laughed, i looked over to cody and he was turning red. "Mom, come on." He smiled at her, looking at her if she was his everything.

That's cute.

"Hailee shall we go upstairs?" He asked, i nodded and said bye to his mom and went upstairs.

"You can drop your bags in the corner there." Cody pointed to the only neat corner of the messy room.

"What was that about?" I have him a look. "What was what?"

"The good boy act in front of your mom. Like I don't believe a single word you said." He shrugs.

"Well I said it, and big whoop I'm nice to my mom." I shake my head and continue.

"Okay if we're gonna write a good song we gotta think of what genre we want." We look at each other and begin spitting out the total opposites from each other's choice.

"Punk."

"Pop."

"Rap."

"Blues."

"Jazz."

"Metal."

After a few fights and genres later we ended up with nothing.

"This is pointless."

"It is, yeah." I agreed with him. "Why do i had to be paired up with you? We are both the totally opposite from eachother" I groaned, throwing my head backwards. "We can make it work." He said nicely. "Why don't we just get to know eachother first." He asked me, patting the bed saying that i had to come and sit next to him.

"Why don't you tell me first what happened yesterday."  I faked a smile. "You're gonna figure that out later okay. Let's just know eachother better okay." He groaned.

"Fine."
