Arizona's POV
''I'm still freaking out.'', I hear Big H say behind me. We're currently driving to the airport in a Mercedes, with my dad driving. We are five minutes away from our greatest and most fantastic trip ever. Nothing can ruin this. It's unbelieveble my parents actually agreed to let us go.
Allow me to explain.
Me and my sister Hope (I call her Big H and she calls me LA, weird thing) have been extremely interested in Greek Mythology ever since we've seen the movie Percy Jackson. Even tough the books are better. We know everything about it.
For the past years, we've been collecting stuff: stories, myths, newspapers, monuments... Everything there is to know about Greece and it's mythology. Insane, I know.We put all that info in a scrapbook and one day my mom found it. My parents were happy that we shared an -extreme- obsession and let us go to Greece alone, just the two of us, for two weeks, during Christmas break.
So now, me and Big H are only two minutes away from our lifelong dream.
''I know! We're gonna have so much fun.'', I reply.
After our dramatic goodbye -yes, mom, I'll be careful. Yes, dad, we'll call every day.- We wait at the gate for Greece. Ofcourse I triple checked before sitting down. We still are an hour early. I like to be sceduled well. I checked everything at home, but still... I don't want this to go wrong.
I intensly read my book 'Paper Towns' from John Green. I swear that guy is trying to kill me with his tragedy-books. Suddenly I get shaken up by the air-hostess speaking in the mic.
''The doors will be opened now.'' I should've expected that, because she said the door would. You know, like in ten minutes, in five minutes...
H gets up and I do too. I am so excited, I just, I can't wait!
''God, is this really happening? Is this my good karma kicking in?'', H says while we stand in line.
''Hah, you? Good karma?'', I reply while fake-laughing.
''That not funny. It's just so unreal, LA!''
''I know, I can't wait!''
We hand our passports to the lady and walk over the odd hall thing, sort of. Well, it's not like we don't travel a lot, because we do. It's the first time we've been alone. You know, Hope is 19 now and because of that, we can go! (She used to have trouble in school, but now she's in college.)
My memory flashes back to when I was little and we were waiting at the gate and I was reading a thick book. It was a gift from my mom and it's like a fairytale-book, you know. But the point is, that I loved it. It was like our Family Legacy. It looked ancient, like in a movie. It was passed on from mother to daughter for generations long. We aren't rich, but my mom gave it to me. That was a big deal for me, because she usually gives her stuff to Hope, but not this time. She wanted me to have it. That's why I kind of brought it. What? Can you blame me!
We walk in the plane and put our suitcases above our heads. After I took my Family Legacy, ofcourse. We chose places with two on purpose and I like sitting by the window. I know everybody does, but yeah.
Hope starts talking all about how excited she is and how this is going to be amazing. But I know it will be. It's gonna be awesome! I planned out the whole thing.
I open Twat (oh yeah, I named it that because it reminded me of the series Once Upon A Time and then I started calling it OUAT, even tough that's a weird name, but then H made me pick a letter and I said T. The first thing we came up with was Twat, so... Poor Family Legacy.) and see the dancing letters of the title. Graymond Legacies. It was the family name a long time ago, but I find it beautiful. On the insidecover, our generations have been writing their names. It half filled with handwritings.
