The story those eyes could tell. Those beautiful light blue eyes with the dark blue trim. Those sad, lonely eyes full of rejection and sorrow. Every part of her shows happiness and love, like she was never hurt. Every part of her except those eyes.
She hides her pain from everyone. She has everyone fooled, except me. I can see strait threw her eyes. 1 month ago I couldn't tell you that. When I look back on it, I realize there were so many times that contributed to the sorrow in her eyes.
We were at school. We had geography together. She had one friend in the entire class, Abby. They weren't close friends, but they were all they had. In late January, Abby moved away. Abby's last day was hard to watch. She tried so hard to cover the pain of her friend leaving, but you could still see the pain in her eyes. The same pain I see in her eyes everyday.
From that day forward, that class was torturous on her. When we went into groups it was worse. She tried to make friends with two different girls but was never excepted.
I love how she was never oblivious to fake friends. The people who say they're your friends but neglect your existence until they are alone. Then your magically their bestie.
One day, we got to pick our seats in geography. She got to the class before the two fake friends, Coleen and Maggie. She sat in the front far left corner of the room. Maggie came in and sat to the right of her. One by one, the class filled up and the desks were full, well, all except her row. No one wanted to sit by her. Not even on the same row as her. The sharp pain from the harsh rejection stabbed her, but she hid it very well.
Finally, Coleen walks in and there are no seats right by Maggie she can sit in. All of a sudden, she stood up. "Coleen, you can sit here. I know you and Maggie would much rather sit by each other than by me. I'll just sit behind you." She said. "Noooo, Ravin, we want you to sit by us." Said Maggie. "It's fine, I'll sit behind Coleen."
She's so blunt and appears to not care, when it really hurts. She always puts a smile on her face, and keeps going. That's a trait I wish I had.
