Esmerée's POV
Feldspar left in a hurry and I turned to see Marcus close to me. He brushed a stand of my still wet hair back and kissed me softly. He had no experience but he tried his best. I pushed him back a bit. I could feel his breath. This isn't right. I didn't love him I never loved the other men who fell for me. "Marcus this..." His lips crushed against mine again not letting me finish. He pulled me closer by the waist and his lips parted.
"Emerald, this is how I feel about you." He kissed me again but sweetly on the cheek. "Marcus I..." What was I supposed to tell him? Well, after the kiss I have to tell you that I don't feel the same way. Oh and by the way, if you say my name, you'll turn into stone. Nice way to break the ice.
I wanted badly to love him back but I was just so full of hate and despair. I wanted to make him happy. I closed my eyes and lay my head on his chest hearing his heartbeat and he wrapped his arms around me as he sighed in content. "I know we've just met but I feel like we were meant to be together." I could here the smile on his face. He let go and took my hand. "Let's head back to camp before people become suspicious." I nodded and we walked back through the forest.
We got to the camp and they had already started training. Marcus went to get his armor and I tried to sneak into my tent again. "Where do you think you're going? Training is starting you know." It was Feldspar. I wondered If he recognized the armor... He winked at me and pulled me along to the session. I got in line and saw that I was one of the shortest here.
Feldspar walked in front of everyone from side to side. "Today's session will be sword fighting. You!" He signaled at me to step forward and then to another one as short as me. "You two shall learn to wield your sword by fighting each other." What?! Was he crazy?
But it would look suspicious if I refused so I grabbed my sword the way Terrowin held it and shook the challengers hand before we started. He quickly lunged at me and I dodged it swiftly. He then twisted his body and I was surprised but was able to block it with my sword. There was a loud clang of metal against metal and the force of the hit hurt me a little.
I needed to finish this quickly before I could be exposed. I knocked him down as we both tried recovering from the strike and he fell to the ground losing his grip on his sword. I finished knocking it out of his hand and I pointed mine at his throat. Everyone applauded and I helped the soldier up. "Well done soldier, back in place." Feldspar had a grin on his face. "But first would you take off your helmet so that your comrades can see your face?"
I nervously shook my head from side to side. He walked over to me and took off the helmet before I could react and everyone gasped. "I was beaten by a woman?" All of his comrades laughed and Feldspar acted surprised. "A woman? You cannot be here! Come with me and the rest of you keep training." He grabbed me by the arm and pulled me into a tent. I shook him off. "What the hell was that?!"
He gave me a mischievous look. "I was getting you out of the situation of course." My jaw dropped. "You were the one that got me into it." I took off my armor, now useless to hide my identit. He looked away contemplating something and then looked at me again getting closer to me. "Feldspar?" He lifted my chin and kissed me passionately. I could tell the difference between him and Marcus. Marcus would kiss me sweetly while Feldspar kissed me lustfully.
He kissed my neck and pulled me against him. "S-stop..." I tried pushing him but he was too strong. He unbuttoned my shirt and my breath caught as his hand moved to my chest. It was difficult to speak and it suddenly got hot in the tent. "No... Marcus..." He stopped abruptly.
"What do you see in him that I don't have? I don't understand..." He gripped my chest and a moan escaped from my lips making him smirk. "But I bet he can't make you feel this way." He slid his hand down from my chest and down to my thigh while he kissed me again. No...!
"FELDSPAR!!" Marcus stormed into the tent. "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING TO HER?!" Feldspar turned just enough so that Marcus could see both of us clearly. "What do you think I'm doing?" He kissed my neck again. "Marcus...!" I didn't see what happened but all I knew now is that the both of them were fighting on the ground. Marcus was on top of Feldspar punching him and in return, Feldspar was blocking each one of them.
"Stop!" I held my shirt together and I was about to help, when I felt a sharp pain in my side. I grunted and held the place where it hurt with my hands. They both stopped fighting seeing my face. I fell on my knees and bent over. "Emerald!" They both yelled at the same time, rushing over to me. "What happened?" Said Marcus. "I don't know. I just felt pain in my side..." I removed my hands and they were bloody.
I went into shock as I stared at my hands with wide eyes. I felt disconnected. Someone was trying to kill me? Both of the guys talked to me but I didn't hear anything. I only saw their lips moving and their worried faces.
Marcus's POV
"Emerald! Emerald!" I shook her but all she gave me was a blank expression. I picked her up and lay her on the bed with Feldspar hovering. I removed her hands and there was too much blood to see well. I took in a deep breath. "Bring me one of you shirts." Feldspar tool out a white shirt and handed it to me. I took off Emeralds shirt and dabbed at the wound. She flinched and came out of her shock. "Ow!" She smacked my hand and touched the open skin.
"Don't do that!" Feldspar removed her hands while I dabbed at it. I looked apologetically at her. "I'm sorry but this will hurt a bit." I ripped the shirt into lines and wrapped it tightly around her waist and the wound. She bit her lip trying to hold back a scream. "We need to get her out of here. Now." He nodded and took his bag. We both helped her up and she limped as we walked out of the tent and into the forest.
We reached the lagoon and I helped her lay down on the grass. I gave Feldspar a meaningful look and he nodded. He lay out many different items and powders. "Bring me water in this." He held out a round bowl. I did as he said as he un bandaged the wound and sprinkled some powder on it. He silently whispered to himself taking the bowl of water and mixing it other things.
He poured the mixture around the wound and he place his hands about on inch from her skin. She looked very tired and wasn't even complaining about how it hurt. "Don't you dare die on me!" I grabbed her hand and he looked at me. "You shouldn't try to save me. It's best if I just bleed out and die. I'm a horrible person anyways."
"What are you saying?" I didn't understand. How was she a horrible person? Feldspar's whispering had gradually gotten louder and I saw that the wound was glowing. "You think you can save her?" He looked up at me and then the wound stopped glowing. It was completely cured. "I did my best... I'm... Sorry brother. If it weren't for me, we wouldn't be in this situation."
She finally realized that she wasn't wearing a shirt and she turned red covering herself with her hands. I placed my hand on his shoulder. "I am sorry too. I know you love her as well. But we must let her decide on her free will." He shook his head sadly. "I think she's made it clear who she prefers." Feldspar rose and took of his cape and handed it to her. She covered herself and stood. "I'm very sorry for forcing myself on you." He turned his back and left us.
She walked over to me and hugged me."Marcus..." She whispered in my ear and I hugged her back strongly. "Do you love me?" She asked still whispering. "With my life." There was silence for a moment. "Do you want me?" She pulled back a bit and looked into my eyes. I kissed her answering her question and somehow we ended up on the grass. She was the first woman who had ever been with me and as we kissed each other, we became one.
