Chapter5 First day of school gone wrong

Jess's pov
It was first hour me bryce and the gang had gym and day one of gym was dodge ball. The teamcaptains was bryce and matt. Bryce's team was me ross barny adam jin dokato and jerome. Matt's team was bodil simmon and a few others. Mitch husky ian and ryan didn't want to play. It was the final match and it was only bryce and matt. My face hurt from when some one hit me mitch had gotten me and ice pack and took my place for the last two rounds. Bryce was dodging the balls left and right and so was matt then one ball hit it hit bryce in the feet it tripped him and his head hit the floor hard. I called out his name but he didn't get up. Mitch and jerome ran on the court so did bodli and Simmon. "Is he ok" bodli asked "he couldn't of hit the floor that hard" mitch answered. I only watched hope that he was only hurt nothing worst happen. If his head hurt i could help but if he was in something worse I couldn't help. "Well lets get him up" jerome said as he and mitch picked bryce up and put bryce's arms over there own so they could carry him to the nurses hospital. I was at the verge of tears.
Later that day
"Will Jessica,Mitch,Jerome,Ross,Matt,and Bodil please come to the principal's office" i heard over the intercom me and ross got up and walked to the principal's office as we got closer everyone that was called showed up. I looked at bodil "im sorry for being a jerk to him" he said as he walked slowly. When we got there he called matt in first. "Im sure they will tell good news " i heard Mitch say right before he looked down doubting his words. "Maybe bryce is ok" Jerome added. "Yea maybe he is fine" ross said before giveing the same worried look as mitch it made me feel worse. What if bryce was in a coma or bryce has to have surgery on his brain what if he gets amnesia. I thought before bodli put a hand on my shoulder. "If anything bad happens to bryce ill make matt pay name calling is one thing but hurting someone physically is not cool. " he said then matt got up and marched out of the office the principal motioned for the rest of us in. "Your friend bryce should be fine but we had to take him to the hospital he is out cold but he is fine he just will not wake for a while and do any of you want to see him?" Principal notch said i raised my hand so did bodil Jerome and Mitch. I know why ross didn't he didn't want to see bryce then hear bad news then cry alot. "Ok ross go back to class the rest of you be on your way. Bodli offered to drive us there cuase he was the only one who didn't have tears forming at his eyes. We nodded as we got in bodli's car i was in the front while mitch and Jerome tried to convince them selfs to stay strong
At the hospital
I sat next to bryce as he laid on the bed i held his hand his forehead was wraped in alot of bandage his body would twitch and when it did i thought he was wakeing up mitch and jerome left after an hour. Bodli and i stayed till almost 8:30 in 30 minutes bodli would have to leave but cuase me and bryce going out i could stay longer. "Do you want me to drive you home or do you want to see if they will let you stay the night with him?" Bodli asked before he opened the door. "I don't want to leave him" i answered "ill ask for you then" bodli said after a while he came back"they said you can stay as long as you like. " bodli said "ok then goodnight bodli" i said he closed to door.
