The bright side: Chapter 1

Lucy:

In my room, I see pure darkness no light It's the middle of the night and I can't seem to sleep at all. I hear a knock at the door so I stumble over to the light switch and fumble for the door knob, when I reach the door knob and finally get it open I see my brother "Why are you up so late?" He shuffles towards me and hugs my waist. "What's wrong Zack?" He looks up at me and stutters "I.. I saw a.. a m..m..monster" he shutters so I pick him up shut the door, and walk back over sitting on my bed "you can sleep with me tonight then, ok?" he smiles up at me "ok" so I tuck him under the covers and kiss his forehead.

After tucking him in I turn the lights off then check my iPod to see the time •2:25 a.m. It's late I need to sleep• I keep thinking, •but why can't I?!, well at least it's a Saturday night I don't have school tomorrow•. I walk over and sit down at my desk turning on the lamp above it and quietly searching through my drawer for a note pad and pencil. Finding them I pull them out and sit them on top of my desk I start to write a journal entry ~Dear journal,

It's 2:28 in the morning I can't sleep, I

guess theirs to much on my mind it's

Saturday, but it feels like Thursday. I

just wish I could clear my mind and

sleep for once. I'll check in again

tomorrow to update you. Don't go

anywhere!.

Zack:

It's the middle of the night I hear noises coming from the darkness I'm shaking with fear. I cover my head with my blanket and continue to shake •I gotta get out of here!• I keep thinking to myself. I sat up seeing a shadow and thought •I gotta be brave!.. and...and I have to face my fears.., but I can't..•

*Face-palm. Getting out of bed I run to the door quickly and almost slam it behind me running to Big Sissy's room I knock on the door as I anxiously bounce almost scared to death* she opens the door "Why are you up so late" she asks. I sorta scoot over to her and hug her waist. She asks " what's wrong" "I.. I saw a.. a m..m..monster" she picks me up and sits me on the bed telling me I can sleep with her that night. I got comfy closed my eyes and fell back asleep...

Candy:

So I was sleeping right and I hear my brothers door shut heavily and his feet running down the hall and he woke me up! •ugh that little brat!• I thought as I sat up.• Can't he learn how to step lighter like me and not be soo ruff with the door•

Knowing once I woke I can't fall asleep again I still tried getting frustrated I just laid in my bed. Waiting until morning I remained unable to sleep fully awake and upset..
