Why? Why does the universe hate me so much? First in high school, then in college? There are so many other bars that he could've went to. I can never catch a break. We stare at each other for what feels like forever. Ezra is the first to speak.
"Hey, its nice to see a familiar face. How are you?" He says as he moves to the barstool that's next to me. I give him a shy smile and look down at my hands.
"I- I'm good. How are you adusting to L.A.?" I ask as the bartender brings me my vodka soda. I remove the little straw, finish it in one gulp, and ask for another, all in less than a minute. Ezra smirks, and I turn back to face him. He's smiling, and opens his mouth to speak, but then he's interrupted.By her."Aria, how nice to see you. Aren't you too young to be in here?" Simone says as she stands by Ezra's side. Ezra and I laugh in unison. I have a huge grin on my face. He still remembers the day that we met. Ezra is still laughing. Simone looks at me confused.
"That hasn't stopped her before", Ezra says and immediately covers his mouth with his hand. I frown at him. Now Simone is looking at the both of us confused. And, for some unknown reason, I feel the need to explain. So, I do.
"Ezra and I met in a bar right after I moved back from Iceland." Simone still looks confused. "It was before school started. So, I didnt know that Ezra was going to be my teacher," I say, trying to help her curiosity."Another thing. What's with this first name basis situation? He is your former teacher, Aria. Show some respect," Simone snaps as the bartender brings me my food and drink. I ask him to wrap it up for me. I need to get out of here before I punch her right in the face. She knows so little about me, and that it makes me even angrier. Being here just reminds me that his feelings for me were never real. He used me to get to Allison. Maybe he loved her. The bartender hands me my food and I thank him. Getting up, I respond to Simone.
"Your right, Simone. I just figured since he was my teacher so long ago, that we were all much more mature now. I didn't mean to disrespect anyone. Goodbye, Simone." She gives me a sad, forgiving smile. I walk towards the exit. As I step foot out the door, I turn back and look at Ezra.
"Goodbye, Mr. Fitz."
