So basically the whole time Kendall was in a coma from hitting her head and Cameron was her guardian angel keeping her alive.
The whole time he was gone she was slowly dying but shy got him back and it made her better.
Hayes was a guardian angel in training so that's why he was there.
Maddie was just the person she remembered. She doesn't really remember the others except for her mom.
