I began to panic on the thought that he has seen the recent tweets.
"Jeez!" He scolded when I screamed his name through the line.
"Sorry, ummm what's up?" I cleared my throat, still being occupied by the repulsive tweets about my life.
"Can I pick you up now?" He asked.
"N-now?" I stuttered.
"Yeh, you still at Leah's?"
"I-I guess..." I hesitated.
"Be there in ten." He wasted no time. I thanked him and slammed on the 'end' button, and shoved it in my butt pocket. The girls observed me randomly packing up to leave, putting on my cheap flip flops I once got for a buck at JC Penny's.
"Whoa, where you going?" Stephanie questioned as she followed my every move around the room.
"Tren's coming to pick me up." I replied, unhooking my coat from a hanger.
"Ooooo!" They all sang playfully.
"Maya's gonna get some!" Isabel added. I gasped and slapped her arm.
"Wait, has he seen the tweets?" Leah asked concerned. I fearfully shrugged my shoulders.
"I guess I'll find out."
A random doorbell ding-donged, myself knowing precisely who the guest was.
"DOORBELL!" Stephanie screamed; nobody having a clue why since we all heard it loud and clear. Right away, all of us began running down the stairs to open the door and let my handsome Brit in. I attempted to be the winner of the 'get down the stairs' race, but Leah was.
"Tren! Darling!" Leah teasingly greeted him. I finally got in front of her and I shoved her behind my frame.
"Hi." I calmingly said, accepting a kiss on my cheek from him. His plump lip was fixed in-between his teeth as he stood there patiently while I said goodbye to my friends. In no time, I was by his side and under his left arm.
The ride home was silent. I focused on the outside while he focused on the road. Every so often I would turn my head to look at him, but his dashing eyes stayed locked on the road. I inhaled deeply, out of awkwardness.
I felt reluctant as the car pulled into his driveway.
"Where's your mom?"
"Work."
Tren leaned his head first then swung his legs out of the car. I waited on the other side for him to assist me out, but he did not come for me. I sadly watched his back as his strong legs carried him up the hilled driveway. My mouth opened and I was about to call his name, but I held onto my breath. I knew exactly why he was angered; the tweets.
I made my way out of the black vehicle and up to the entrance of his house. "Tren?" I called for him after I shut the front door behind me. His face had a boring expression once I saw him peek from the living room. He leaned his body against the strong wall and crossed his toned arms, orbs starring at me. "Are you okay?" I took a step closer, he took a step further. "Ummm..." I returned my step.
"Why?" He demanded, shrugging his shoulders.
"Why what?"
"Why couldn't you just say it to my face!" Tren's voice echoed through the house. My eyes began swelling up with water.
"Say what to your fa-"
"Don't act so innocent Maya. It gets old." That put a dent in my heart. There was no sugar coating in that sentence.
