We sat in silence in the living room; the tension in the air was thick. I continue to look away from everyone. Everyone in this room betrayed me, how can I trust anyone.
"Deana," Jessie begins, cutting the silence. "We need you to touch us all where it matters most to us, one at a time." I finally look up at him confusion in my eyes. "First it will be Le-"
"Wait," I cut Jessie short. "Why do I have to touch you guys where it matters most?"
He sighs. " When you touch us where it matters most, memories will begin to flood in."
I nod. Leanne comes next to me. She's wearing a black muscle shirt and basketball shorts to match. She looks at me with apologetic eyes, but I look away. "Don't ignore me Deana," she snaps. I glance up at her slightly. "I would've told you, but I had strict orders for you to figure it out all on your own," she whispers.
Her voice was full of sympathy, but I didn't care. I look back at Jessie ignoring her apology. "What else will happen when the memories come in?"
"Ameryst's soul will wake up more, allowing us to wake up the powers deep in you," he replies. "We have a plan to fully awaken them.""'A plan'?" I question.
"I cannot tell you more than that until you get your memories back."
I sigh and look back at Leanne. Her face was down, looking away from me, but she sticks her arm out waiting patiently. I glance away and close my eyes, reaching out and grabbing her arm. I gasp as memories begin to flash in my mind.
*****
Memories of how I found her and Jessie. Or should I say Nick and Grace. A certain memory shoots into my head. I - or should I say Ameryst- wanted to go exploring, so I ask Jessie to take me. He couldn't so he told me to ask Leanne to go with me. I walk up to Leanne, hating the fact I have to ask her because she always called me a spoiled brat. When I ask her she agrees to it.
We walk into the woods, our wings dragging behind us. As much as I love flying, I love walking, feeling the earth under my feet gave me joy.
"Princess?" Grace speaks, breaking the silence and stopping in our tracks.
"Yes?" I reply looking at her and stopping as well.
She was gazing away from me. "Have you kissed anyone besides Prince Blake?" She looks towards me showing how serious she is.
I smile a genuine smile at her, "Why yes I have. Just one other person, but kissing Blake is completely different from kissing someone who isn't your soul mate."
Her eyebrows furrow. "Who did you kiss?" Curiosity runs through her eyes.
"Your brother, Nick," I reply honestly.
She gasps, "Really!?"
My cheeks get bright red. "Why yes, it was nice and sweet. I was so lost between him and Blake, but I knew as soon as he kissed me, Blake will always have my heart."
She frowns at my words. "Why Blake?"
"Because, when Blake kisses me, I know I am safe. This indescribable feeling rising up from in me, as if I'm being engulfed by the sun. It's so warm and exciting, it's like I'm flying," I announce jumping into a pile of leaves to exaggerate the intensity of the kiss.
"And when you kissed Nick? What did you feel?" She asks as she sits next to me.
I smile remembering the kiss. "I felt kindness and sweetness, but it was nothing compared to Blake's kisses."
