"If you move any slower, I'll be a grandma by tomorrow. "

I stepped out of the bathroom with my green toothbrush sticking out of my mouth. "Agh!"

"Sorry, I can't hear you when things are inside your mouth." She winked.

I stepped back inside the white tiled bathroom and continued brushing my teeth. My eyes flickered up to the mirror where I stared at my reflection. My short ash brown hair was messy as usual. I was always too lazy to make it look presentable.

I spat in the sink and washed my mouth out. After switching off the light, I walked out to Penny. A lollipop sat between her lips. She stood up as I opened the door.

We moved down the carpeted stairs and into the kitchen where I grabbed a Pop Tart I hid from my mom last night. Penny took a water from the fridge and we headed out. My black car shined as the morning sunlight threw it's rays down on it. I opened my door and we both got in.

As soon as I started pulling out of the driveway, Penny spoke up abruptly. "Guess who I got with two days ago." A devilish smile danced along her lips.

"Who?" I asked uninterested.

"Ray." I jerked the car and her piece of candy flew out of her mouth. She stared longingly at it. "You ruined my candy..."

"You slept with your ex who cheated on you seven times-with all of your friends!" She looked at me.

"He didn't sleep with you." Yeah, because I intentionally try to be invisible...no sarcasm intended.

I pursed my lips then focused back on driving. The rest of the ride was silent. When we got there, my best friend and I parted ways. She had morning practice in the gym. I headed over to the front entrance of the school and sighed. Here we go.

Throwing my black hoodie over my head, I walked in. No one payed attention to me. Thank you. I safely made it to my blue locker and opened it up. While I was going through my things, my locker neighbor, Clarisse, started flirting with the quarterback.

"So, I'll see you later tonight?" She twirled her light blonde hair. He removed his arm from behind her head and smirked.

"You got that right." Then she giggled as he left. I rolled my eyes and departed too. With books in hand and my head down, I wasn't paying attention and bumped into someone.

Shit.

My books fell onto the floor and as I stumbled, my hoodie fell back. I got down onto the floor to pick them up when I spotted his shoes. Expensive and clean. My light blue eyes trailed up his black skinny jeans, towards his gray V-neck, and ended at his perfect face.

The boy got down and started helping me. That's when I noticed his lips moving. "What?"

"I said I was sorry, but you shouldn't stare at the ground when you walk." I blushed and agreed. He had a point there. We both stood up and the student handed me my stuff. The stranger felt...familiar.

"Are you new here?" He smiled.

"You noticed." The guy had brown disheveled hair and gorgeous hazel eyes. "I'm Vince."

His eyes held kindness but also a secret. "I'm Eris."

He raised and eyebrow. "Eris?"

"My mom is kind of obsessed with Greek mythology and named me after the goddess of chaos. Eris." He nodded his head. "I should get going."

I started walking away when he shouted, "I'll see you later!" I smiled.

I entered my English class and sat down in the back. I kept my hood down knowing Mr. Kingston wouldn't like it on. Most of my teachers didn't care but he was a strict one. The classroom was filling up when someone sat beside me.
