the sounds of two shoes smacked against the cold, hard concrete. "geez, what's wrong with you? i thought that the both of us could spend some quality time in america! but instead you're acting so... so, what's the word?-" cally stared at the ground, a finger on her cheek and a confused look overtook her face. "so grumpy? or maybe you're going to use the word 'irritating' this time. who knows what the great cally will say this time!" desmond sarcastically yelled, throwing his hands into the air. "well... i was going to say you were a bit heated but those words work too!" the raven haired male groaned in annoyance "you don't understand do you?! those people invited us into their home for dinner and we don't even know them! cal, you have too much of a soft heart." the female stopped abruptly in her tracks, grabbing desmond's arm and pulling him back. "we're going if you like it or not. now, be a good little desmond for me and act normal when we go. that includes no groaning, grunting, stomping, or yelling. oh, and do not spill anything on purpose."
- -
the day went by very quickly, as the couple that was shopping had to go back to their hotel and change for the upcoming dinner party that they were invited to. desmond was still a little upset about this whole idea of going, but cally forced him to go. 'it's only polite to go desmond, and even you know that!' was the pink haired female's exact words. the two of them were now walking on a sidewalk in the dark to the home that they were invited to. "listen, as soon as we're done eating we're leaving oka-" "hold up, desmond do you have anything to do when we get back? why are you in such a rush?" once again the two of them went back to bickering and before they knew it, the couple was on the doorstep of the home that desmond seemed to not want to go to. cally stopped talking as the door opened up and a man that looked pretty tan stepped out. "oh, honey the couple seemed to have make it! welcome you two, come on in." the couple standing outside, cautiously peeked inside before walking in. "wow, you have a very nice, welcoming home sir!"
- -
the tan man laughed, "thank you! it took my family a couple of years to adjust to such a huge house... speaking of family, you're welcome to call me james." as soon as the tall male said that, his family rushed into the living room. "call me rose! i'm so glad you all could make it tonight. hopefully the maids cooked dinner well." the wife of the family began frantically speaking as then a short male with a stoic gaze walked in front for everyone to see. "i'm nick, don't mind my mom... she's a bit tipsy when we have guest over." - "nick! i am not drunk!" the mother and son started to bicker back and forth, james snapped his fingers and everyone went back into place. nick rushed to his father's side, and rose stood where she was. "honey, we have guests over, why don't we talk for a minute and let nick guide them to the dining room?" rose gave a nervous smile and then nodded her head. "what a good idea! nick..." - "oi, i got it. i heard you once and i don't need to be told twice." rose flinched at her son's tone, and then before desmond and cally knew it james and rose were gone. leaving nick to walk them to the dining room.
- -
cally noticed that it was such a long walk to the dining room so she thought it would be a good idea to start a conversation. "so ah, nick... what does your parents do for a liv-" she was caught off guard when the female thought she heard nick laughing his head off. "i can tell that the both of you are nervous. don't worry. like i said, my mom acts like she's tipsy while my dad holds an uneasy smile. at least try and make it through dinner, the food that the maids cook is amazing!" desmond started to grind on his teeth, holding cally's hand. shooting the female a look that said 'i hate this place, and the people living here are out of their minds.' cally completely brushed the look off her shoulder and made her way into the dining room, seating herself instead of leaving one of the male's to push in her seat. three maids made their way into the large, spacey dining room. placing a silver waiter like food tray on the table. "a-arigato!" the maids stopped where they were at and bowed. nick sho'ed them off, making a small 'tch' sound and started to put plates on the table.
- -
aah! we're back! sorry for the wait! my husband and i hate leaving guest behind like that." rose yelled, seating herself in the chair next to desmond. leaving james to have to sit next to cally. "no worries. it didn't take long at all." when the tanned male gave that uneasy looking smile, cally instantly knew something was going to go wrong. "well... what are we waiting for? let's dig in." nick impatiently muttered, staring at the food trays. "right! that's why everyone is here, let me just-" as soon as rose got up from her spot to pick up the food tray, she froze. "huh? honey? are you alright?" james asked, as then everyone in the room tensed up. there was a sudden inhuman sound coming from all the food trays. "uhm, i hate to ask... but do any of you know what that sound is?" desmond got up from his seat, groaning and scratching his head. "i bet it's nothing for me." he cockily said, then picked up the food tray.
- -
what cally saw made her whole body stiffen up, then made her pass out. desmond squealed like a little girl and jumped away from the table, grabbing cally. "what the hell is that?!" the angry male yelled out, as james started to laugh and stare at the two of them confused. "what do you mean what is that 'thing'? it's our dinner..." rose and nick started to laugh all together. "what? are you not used to living food? that's how we eat!" rose waved her hand in dismay, "oh is cally alright? it looks like she's out of it." desmond picked cally up, bridal style and started to slowly walk away. "all of you are out of your minds! we're leaving, and never coming back." the raven haired male started to run out of the house, making sure that he didn't drop cally along the way. on the way back, desmond picked up some food from a fast food restaurant and got back safely.
- -
desmond laid cally down in bed, sighing and looking at the female's face. "i told ya cal. sometimes i wonder if you ever listen or take my advice seriously." just then, cally started to laugh and open up her eyes. "w-wait! were you faking the whole entire time?!" cally nodded her head and hugged her lover "trust me, i listen to everything you say. don't you think i don't." she laid back down in the bed, curling up and closing her eyes once more. "oh and desmond," - "yes?" there was a small silence before cally laughed through her nose. "i love you..." - "i love ya too, now eat this food. i had to use all my yen for it."
