A New Beginning

As I was packing my last box of toys, I looked around my room one last time. Me and my brother, Michael glanced at each other, knowing this would be our last sight of this apartment.

"You ready?" Michael asked me.

I took a deep breath and sighed. I grabbed my teddy bear, Harry, and hugged it gently.

"Yeah," I said. Michael helped me carry my remaining boxes outside of the apartment. I walked back inside, walking into the rooms again.

Michael came behind and hugged me. "Hey, we're gonna have a new beginning, our lives will be better."

We went downstairs of the building and sat in the car. When daddy got in, he started the car once the moving truck began to drive away.

I sat in the back with Michael, Harry in between us. I watched as all the green summer trees passed by us on the road.

"You doing okay there, Melle?" Mommy turned to ask me.

"I'm fine mommy, what's the baby doing?"

"She's just sitting in here," she laughed. I gave her a smile and turned back to the window. We were entering the state of Florida.

We were moving into a new house in Orlando. Daddy said our house is near Disney World! It was big enough for our family, and the soon to come baby. Our previous home was much too small for us.

After an hour of driving, we finally arrived. Me and Michael got out of the car, examining the new house.

"It's semi-detached?" Michael asked daddy.

"Yep, but it's nice. Wait until you see the inside, son!" He pushed us both inside and into the empty living room. Mommy and daddy walked around each room on the bottom floor, each pointing to a spot where new furniture would go.

Michael and I made our way up the staircase and took a look around the rooms.

"This is the master bedroom," Mommy said and we both ran into it. "I would be able to fit all my toys in here mommy!"

"Ha! Too late! I call dibs on this room!" he shouted and I crossed my arms grumpy. A benefit of the new house, was there were enough rooms for everyone to have their own. Mommy came over to me as she rubbed her belly.

"Melle, don't worry about not getting this room. You know why?" she asked.

"No mommy, why?"

"Because you wont need to share a room with your smelly brother anymore!" she said with a laugh.

"Mommy!" I shouted. "You're right!" Mommy smiled and rubbed my head and went to check on daddy.

I walked out of Michael's new room to go look at the other rooms. There was one right beside Michael's, and it was a decent size. I would be able to fill this place up with all my toys!

There was a wall you couldn't see when you walked in. When I turned around, I jumped when I saw a window, and a boy on the other side.

The boy was listening to music on an iPod, and drawing. He was about my age. Dark brown curly hair, and pale skin like me. I stared at him until he noticed me. After he finally looked up from his drawing, we locked eyes. His eyes were a very pretty green. After that, green became my favorite color. Not just any green, but that boy's eye color. He broke our stare and put back his attention to his drawing. He didn't seem to be very bubbly.

Mommy and daddy walked into the room right after. "Aw, this seems like a good room for you," mommy smiled. She knelt down beside me.

"Well we're going to have to put a curtain over this window. How weird of it to be connecting both rooms of both the houses," daddy said.

We all walked out of the room, and into the kitchen.

"Alright kids, unpack your things, we're home," mommy said.
