A/N I'm sorry it took so long but I always need to stay at least one chapter ahead of you guys and I was having issues with it. Plus schools sucks so much, it's term break but I have two assignments I was suppposed to be doing instead of writing.

I chewed my bottom lip as I made my way back to the castle. Butterflies had built up in my stomach, full of all the insecurities that have ever been in my mind. Nervous didn’t even come close to describing how I felt but ‘frantic’ isn’t the right word either. I guess I’m somewhere in between.
I was about to enter the castle walls when I noticed a hunched shadow with a hooked nose. After squinting to see confirm my suspicions, I called out to them.
“Professor Ickinstein?”
He looked over to me and greeted me with that same maddening voice he had when I met him.
“Ah, Allyce. I did not see you there.” He said as he walked towards me.
“What are you doing out here?” I asked.
He shrugged and rubbed the end of his moustache between his thumb and forefinger.
“I could ask the same of you.”
“Actually, no you can’t. I’m just about to find Minerva and relieve her of her shift tonight.”
I paused to look at him questioningly. For a moment I thought I saw panic flash in his eyes but it was gone just as quickly as it had appeared.
“So, I’ll ask you once more Ickinstein. What are you doing here?”
“Nothing of your concern, child. I am merely taking a walk.”
“I am not a child!” I shouted at him, honestly who the hell does he think he is?
“What do you think you two are doing?” A velvet voice called out.
I froze as the light coming from Severus wand came towards us. I straightened up and mentally prepared myself for the lecture that was sure to be on the tip of Severus’ tongue.
“I was walking back up from the Black Lake when I saw a suspicious figure leaving the castle.”
“And you, what’s your excuse?” He said, pointing his wand at Ickinstein.
“Oh, why I was helping Alice over here, of course.” Ickinstein smiled sweetly while I scoffed.
Severus raised his eyebrow at me.
“Something you want to say Professor?” He asked with fake innocence.
“Ickinstein happens to be the suspicious figure I saw leaving. And my name is Allyce.” I directed the last part to Ickinstein.
