Chapter 1

[Skylar's P.O.V]

The drive to St. Cross Academy was probably the most boring thing i've ever experienced. I mean I had to sit in a car for 4 hours straight while my guide, Tyler talked about the school and its history. Tyler was about 17 with dark brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. He was at leaat 6'0. About 15 minutes into the ride i was already falling asleep. Still everytime i was about to close my eyes Tyler would raise his voice. It's like he was trying to bore me to death. The only thing that kept me from telling him to shut up was the fact that he was the headmaster's son.

Finally after 4 hours of torture we arrived at the school. As we approached the wrought-iron gates i started to wonder if coming to this academy was a good idea. Tyler flashed his ID into the camera an the gate slowly began to open. The school was surrounded by trees and was pretty secluded. There were four buildings centered around one main building. The ain building reminded me of a church, or a prison. It was painted mahogany with a couple chips here and there. The were two windows at the front of the building but they were tinted.

The double doors at the front looked as if they hadn't been used in years. They probably didn't even open. The other four buildings looked exactly the same except worse. On one building the door was practically falling off its hinges. What the hell. This is a school,right? I hadn't seen any kids since i came here. I was interrupting from thinking by Tyler's hand on mine.

" Since you already met the headmaster Skylar, we're saved the introductions." Tom pulled out a sheet of paper from his briefcase." here's your schedule, this is the main building where you will take all your classes." I took the paper from Tyler's hand an mumbled a thanks before heading into the main building. I tugged on the door gently afraid if i pulled any harder it'd fall of its hinges. Suprisingly the door opened quite easily. I looked around at the cream colored walls and the bright red lockers that lined the hall. Hmm, just like any other school. I followed the map Tyler manager to draw on the back of my schedule. I wandered the hall for a half hour before i finally found my first class.

Math. The epitome of all evil and my worst enemy. I double checked my schedule just to make sure i was at the right class. Sadly math was my first class of the day. I walked into the class adn ries my best not to draw attention. Silently i walked up to the lady i think was the math teacher and handed her my schedule. " So you're Ms. Grey well i'm Ms. Masterson you're new math teacher and you can take a seat in the back next to Lyla" Ms. Masterson said as she handed me back my schedule.

I looked to the back at the girl raising her hand. She had tan skin, shoulder length fiery red hair and grassy green eyes. She was skinny but not too much and was about 5'5. I could tell that she was a werewolf by her scent but based on her confused expression she couldn't tell what i was. To those who don't know St. Cross Academy is a school for supernatural beings basically werewolves, vampires, and witches.

I was a vampire but my scent was different from others like me. I didn't reek of death and blood, I didn't know why but i didn't care. I walked to the back and took a seat next to Lyla. She was starig at me curiously, probaly wondering what i was and what i was wearing. My cousin had told me to hide my face and body in order to blend in. I had put on a black hoodie with some baggy pants and tinted singlasses. My hair was hidden in my beanie making me look like some kind of stalker. I swear i'm gonna kill him for this. " Hi , i'm Lyla you must be the new girl." she said kindly beaking me out of thought. I really need to stop spacing out. " I'm Skylar,nice to meet you" i replied monotone. I kept my face an emotionless mask as always. I guess being alive for so long has made me a bit of an apathetic person. Lyla nodded and turned back to her work.

Classes seemed to fly by until lunch. I was so happy to finally be able to get something to eat that i almost forgot i didn't know where the cafeteria was. I folllowed behind some students and found that the cafeteria was one of those buildings i'd seen on my way into the main building. I went into the cafeteria and was kind of shocked. There were three seperate areas for werewolves, vampires, and witches to eat. I literally ran to the blood stand and asked the lady for a bag of O positive and a turkey sandwich. My favorite. Once i got my blood i looked for a place to sit and found an empty table close to the door. I took my lunch and sat down. I was in the middle of drinking my O positive when a hand tapped me on my shoulder.

I looked back to see two people a boy and a girl standing behind me. The boy had spiky balck hair, tan skin, and black eyes. He wor a tight black shirt that showed off his abs and baggy jeans. He was kind of hot i guess. The girl on the other hand had short dirty blonde hair and dark brown eyes. She was slender with curves and was about the same height as the boy which was at least 5'6. She ws wearing a miniskirt and a blue halter top.They were both werewolves.

" What are you doing here?" The boy said icily

"Eating" I replied taking a bite out of my sandwich.

" I can see that but why are you eating at our table?"

" There was no where else to sit so i sat here and i don't see your name anywhere on this table. So why don't you go sit somewhere else."

The boy growled and took a step forward but the girl stopped him. " Why don't we all just sit together." The girl said. The boy started to argue but the girl had already took a seat next to me. " I'm Charlotte but you can call me Charlie and this is Blake" The girl-Charlie said.

"I'm Skylar and its nice to meet you." I said without a hint of emotion. I could see Charlie studying me so i turned my head in another direction. I runed around in time to see four people coming towards our table. Two guys and two girls. The guys were obviously twins the only difference is one had black eyes, the other had hazel eyes. They both had golden blonde hair,pale skin, slender bodies and were 5'6. Of the girls one had caramel skin, brown eyes and long mahogany colored hair. She was 5'4 and curvy. The other girl had pale skin, black hair, and pitch black eyes.

" This is Daniel, his brother Dustin and their soulmates Kayla, and Hayley." Charlotte said as if to warn me that they were off limits. As if i would want them, they were cute but not that cute. The one with black eyes was Daniel, the one with hazel eyes was Dustin. Daniel was with Peyton, the girl with brown eyes. Dustin was with Hayley, the girl with black eyes. I could tell Daniel. Dustin, and Hayley were vampires while Kayla was a witch.

" Well who do we have here" Daniel said mockingly.

" This is Skylar, the new girl." Charlotte answered

" Cool, nice to meet you newbie." Dustin said while grinning.

They all took their seats and started eating while i stared off into space. I wonder how things work at this acdemy. I mean the only classes i've had were math and vampiric history which i already know. Who knows i'll just have to wait and see.
