The smell of oak and pine wafted through the woods gingerly. A young girl sat at the edge of the magnificent trees with a pencil and sketchbook doodling unintelligible people. The girl was quite tall for the age of ten, her hair hung down in a tangle of dark brown, her eyes where a mixture of brown and enchanting gold, her build was perfect not to skinny and not to plump. Her smile was soft and sweet, but held traces of mischeif. She flipped her sketchbook page and began to sketch a poorly drawn wolf.
Her intrest for drawing had just bloomed, and she was quite drawn into the world of art due to an aspiring young artist at school.
She closed her book and stood up, she had been intrested in many things, she had tried writing, but grew bored of it quite often, she tried reading, but it would easily pull her attention away from things she needed to do.
She paced herself as she walked through the field that lead to the small thicket of forestry.
She lived in a small complex of houses with her grandmother, there were no children around due to it was an older persons living area.
She ducked under the clothes lines leading to her house and opened the screen door.
Her grandmother sat at the table doing a puzzle book. She looked up.
"Lea? Back so soon?"
Lea walked around her and sat at the end of the table next to her grandmother.
"Ya I thought you might need help with your foot and all."
Lea's grandmother had been in a wheel chair since the young girl was five. But as of late, an infection had spread through her foot, not helping this her grandmother smoked causing lung problems.
Her grandmother nodded her head, "No I'm quite alright sweety, why don't you go play."
Lea stood up and walked out the front door, softly closing it behind her. It was late September and a chill spread throughout the town, Lea hopped onto her bike and rode throughout the complex.
She waved to people and continued forth.
She stopped at the end of the street becoming lost in thought, her grandmother was quite ill and had been take to the hospital quite often, her latest visit was for coughing up blood profusely.
Lea shook her head and sighed, what was gonna happen if she lost her grandmother, she was losing herself, she hadn't slept well for two weeks, continously waking to her stomach in knots and anxiety attacks washing over her.
She heard things and even saw misshapen figures from the corner of her eyes.
She would tell her psychologist of the strange occurrences, but they would brush it off as her imagination and ask her other questions.
Lea was losing her mind and no one would even listen.
That night her grandmother pushed her to go to a friend's on Saturday, Lea denied wanting to go to stay with her grandmother, but she insisted that the little girl got out to see some friends.
Here friend picked her up at eleven o-clock the next day. Four other children where spending the night, so it was quite crowded, none the less they played games and watched television.
All the other kids fell asleep at midnight Lea stayed up and called her grandmother.
It ringed twice and a weak voice picked up, "Yes, Hello?"
"Hey grandma you ok?" Lea's voice said shaking.
"Yes I was just about to get to bed."
"Ok," Lea's voice paused unsure what to say, "I love you grandma."
"Love you to baby."
They both said there goodbyes and went to bed.
At one forty Lea woke up fear filling her body to the brim.
She woke her friends and they stayed up almost the rest of the night.
Lea tried to dodge home the intire day. Come late afternoon she couldn't anymore, They pulled into the parking space of  Lea's home, a note could be seen from the car on the front door.
Lea jumped from the car walking to the door and peeling the note off, it read.

Lea go to Aunt Grace's
Aunt Linda

Lea frowned, grandmother must be in the hospital again.
"Is everything alright?" My friends mother asked.
"Ya I think my grandma is in the hospital again."
"Ok kiddo if you need anything just call us, alright?"
"Yes Ma'am."
I wondered across the street to Aunt Grace's, I knocked and waited, she quickly came to the door, Grace was not truly my aunt, she was a sweet colored lady who I had meet when we moved in.
She was tall and and had multiple scars on her from heart surgery and other operations.
Her usually cheerfulness wasn't there today, she weakly smiled and motioned me to come in.
"Now wait here." She sweetly said crossing the room to the phone.
"Is granma ok?" I asked.
"It's best to wait for your Aunt to answer that."
She punched in some numbers on the phone and waited, a moment later I heard, "She's here."
Grace hands me the phone and my Aunt's voice came through.
"Lea look your grandma passed away." I drop the phone screaming.
