Easton was always getting himself into trouble since the time he could walk, but most of the time he was able to talk himself out of it. For some reason, some where deep down inside of him, he knew there was no way he was going to be able to make it out of this by himself. Even the gloomy doom he was facing did little to discourage his fighter spirit.
Suddenly there were footsteps coming closer to the small dump of a room, in which Easton was stuck chained to the wall. The pitter patter of the rhythmic steps were almost soothing. Easton quickly realized how long it had actually been since he had slept last. Sleep seemed like such a stupid thing to be thinking about, since the man who wanted him dead was about to walk in.
The door knob slowly turned and the old oak door began to squeak open. Then, In a few seconds, it flew open, slamming against the dry wall with a loud thump. In the door frame stood a large mescaline man with bicep muscles bulging from beneath his sleeves. He had no hair except for a thin strip of a very bushy mustache on his upper lip. Behind the first man was Logan Snyder an evil and vicious man, that is if you can even consider him a man.
"Easton Carter chained to a wall at my mercy i could get used to this." Logan said with a nasty snarl that made Easton hate the guy even more then he already did, if that was even possible.
"whatever you say." Easton replied as he started to secretly wiggle his hands in the chains trying to get them lose.
"I wouldn't be so confident if i were you." Logan seemed incapable of another facial expression other then his usual grimace of rage. Easton suspected that Logan had a lot of rage boiling inside of him at any given time.
"whatever you say." Easton wasn't about to let this puny excuse for a human being get inside his head.
"Aren't you scared at all!!!" Logan seemed to be getting angrier at Easton's calmness. Good, he thought to himself, thats exactly where i want him.
"Oh, I'm just absolutely terrified!" Easton spat the words out like they were spoiled milk. His words were coated with a sarcasm that Logan definitely did not appreciate.
"Your absolutely annoying thats what you are!!!"
"so I've been told." Easton responded in the usual smart Alec way he always used when he was stalling for time. He was slowly slipping out of the chains, but it was taking longer then he expected. By the time he finally got his hands free it would probable be to late.
"Well thats all i have to say to you so i guess all thats left is your last words."that stupid smirk was back which made Easton want to punch him in the face.
"My last words? Ah sorry not this time Logan." Easton's finger tips finally slipped out of the chains and he was free. Quickly he jumped up and into action. First he attacked the ugly tough guy, taking him down with relative ease. Then he went after Logan, but not before Logan could turn and run down the hallway.
Reluctantly Easton decided not to pursue Logan and to instead just get out of there. All he wanted to do was go home to his family, but then he remembered the fire.
He could almost smell the smoke and feel the hot blaze of the flames, it was all coming back to him in a mad rush of memories. His five year old little sister, Courtney, was screaming down stairs and he could hear the rising panic in his mother's voice as she tried to calm her.
Swallowing hard Easton forced the past away, like he normally did when it came to the horrible memory of the last time his family was alive. One stray tear made its way down his face before he could stop it and fell to the floor with an almost hearable plop.
Easton started the long walk to the outside world finally emerging on top of the old weathered bunker. He could barely remember a time when being kidnapped and locked in a bunker was abnormal. It all seemed surreal like the past and the present didn't really fit together. And, to some extent, it didn't all fit together right like there were still some missing pieces to the puzzle. Thats how Easton had began to look at his life, just as one giant messed up children's puzzle.
