Rebecca's pov
The girls and I piled into the school bus after our final swim meet of the season. I was kinda glad that the season was over. It's been tedious.
My small group made their way to the back, where we always sat. For some reason, no one else wanted to sit back there. Ashley took her seat next to me and I placed my iPod in my ears, zoning out. I was too exhausted to care about anything going on around me.
Next thing I know, I hear laughing and I look up to see what all the fuss is about. A bunch of the others are pressing their faces up against the windows, smiling and laughing. I was laughing at their behaviour. I looked up to see what they were getting all worked up about and found a car filled with a bunch of really cute guys. Wow, really? Are they that pathetic? I just went back to my iPod, ignoring it.
Alex's pov
We're driving down the road just minding our own business when we come across a bus filled with girls. They were staring and it was starting to get a bit creepy.
"Dude, check it out," my brother laughed, pointing up.
A bunch of them had their flirty faces on and some squashed their face against the window. I scowled. Why do human girls have to be so typical?
My eyes traveled along the length of the bus while the guys kept waving at the girls. I came upon a beautiful girl with long wavy brunette hair. She wasn't paying attention, but she definitely caught my attention.
'Mine' I heard my inner wolf growl. What the fuck? Is he serious right now?
'That's our mate?' I asked my wolf.
'Hell yea! Look at her!' He replied.
I stared for a moment more, then I heard my heart start to flutter. I wanted nothing more than for her to see me. I wanted to bang on the window. I started banging until my hand was stopped.
"Dude, calm yourself down! What's gotten you so worked up?" Preston asked.
"My mate..." I said staring at her, pressing my hands to the cold window.
"WHAT?" Griffin screamed, staring at me with wide eyes.
"I found my mate..." I whispered.
Everyone went silent.
"I found mine..." Dawson trailed off.
"Me too," Ryan said.
Next thing I know, everybody is saying it and we're swerving all over the road. I snapped out of my daze and grabbed Josh's shoulder. He looked over to me and I pointed at the road. He automatically went back to driving safely.
At the stop light, the bus went the other way. My wolf was howling 'NOOO!'
"What're we going to do?" I questioned.
"Nothing. That's all we can do. It's not like they know we're their mates. Their humans," Austin said.
"And the only way for them to find out is if they touch us. Even they wouldn't figure it out. Humans don't know werewolves exist so they would just think that they are attracted to us. And anyways, they are still in high school and we don't even know where they live. How is this even going to work?" Preston asked.
I sigh and put my head in my hands. "I don't know god damn it. I need my mate." I said.
"We all do bro," my brother says, rubbing my back. "Don't stress about it. We'll find them."
My head snapped up and my alpha authority kicked in. "Turn the car around and follow that bus," I ordered.
"Um, dude, we could get arrested for stalking if we get caught." Josh said.
"So we won't get caught, will we? I said follow the god damn bus, so fucking follow it!" I screamed.
The car jerked to the side as Josh made a U turn and we were behind it. Luckily nobody noticed that we were the same car as before. And from where I was, I got a good look at my mate. I sighed contentedly as I looked at her, the whole time.
An hour later, the bus pulled into a school parking lot and we followed suit, parking next to a bunch of cars so we wouldn't be noticeable. I looked at the school sign and read it.
"Major Technological School," I read aloud. "Hmm, isn't that like 2 towns over from out territory?"
"Yea, it definitely is," Ryan responded.
"Perfect," I smirked as we watched the girls shuffle off the bus.
Each of us watching a different person. And it was just a coincidence that they were all talking in a small group.
"Looks like our mates are friends," Austin said with a smile on his face.
"Even better," I laughed like a maniac and they all looked at me like I was physco. "Sorry, I'm just so damn excited about this. We found our mates guys!"
They all laughed at me.
"Man, you sound like a 5 year old on Christmas. Calm yourself. You sound like an idiot," Ryan chuckled.
"Don't disrespect your alpha," I growled.
"Don't use that bull shit on me," he responded and rolled his eyes.
"Bastard," I said.
"So, what are going to do from here, Mr. Alpha?" Austin mocked me.
"Shut your fucking mouth before I shut it for you," I warned him. "And you guys can do whatever you want. I'm changing into my wolf and sneaking off to follow her."
"Creeper," my brother mumbled under his breath, trying to cover it up with a cough.
I grabbed him by the throat and pushed him against the car door.
"I have found my mate and I will do anything to get her," I growled at him. "If you want to be a loser and liver your whole life without talking to your mate then so be it, but I'm actually going to do something about it."
I let go of his neck and he took in a sharp breath, rubbing at the new hand mark on his skin.
"Damn bro, I was just joking around. No need to be so violent," He chocked out.
I ignored him and snuck out of the car, staying out of the girls view. I heard the guys follow after me. That's right; you WILL follow your alpha! We headed to the woods line. Once we got out of view, we stripped ourselves and transformed into our wolves. We watched intently as each of our mates got in their car and left. Ryan and I were the last 2 left. Surprisingly enough, our mates got into the same car.
"Looks like your stuck with me," Ryan's voice echoed in my head.
I turned to him and motioned my head to the left, where the car was now leaving. And we chased our mates the whole way home. Don't worry sweetie, I'm going to get you soon enough.
