Today started normal I went out with some friends and well that's the end. I don't remember anything else, like my mind has been wiped clean. I woke up in pain my skin melting from my muscle as if I were being cooked. I pulled my covers over me not sure exactly what was causing this and strangely it worked. I roll out of bed making sure to keep myself covered. How am I suppose to find what was burning me. I reach my hand out to grab my phone when I started to burn again. What could be doing this. I step back and look down at the floor. A ray of sunlight was crawling across the floor. I reach my hand to touch the light and pull away as soon as I felt the pain. No way the sun is what's burning me I think to myself. I get up and look around my room for a dark place and hope that time will fly fast. I curl up in a ball and wait for night to fall.
I flinch awake when there's a slam against my window. I look up to see a dark shadow leaning in toward the glass.
"Hey! I scream standing up."
When I blink the figure is gone. How could it disappear that fast. I open the window and realized it's night. Alright dezeray, I reassure myself, time to find out what's wrong with you. I start heading down the stairs to grab my jacket when a knock at the door gets my attention. I look at my phone. Why would anyone be here at midnight? I slowly creep toward the door and look through the peep whole. A man not much older than me stands close to the door as if listening for a sound. He has long dark brown hair and crystal blue eyes. He is probably the most gorgeous man I've ever seen. I pulled the door open and smiled at him.
"Hello my name is Matt. I was just wondering if u would like to go on a walk with me?" He smiled casually and gestured his eyes out the door toward the dark night.
"Let me get my jacket," I say hesitantly.
I shut my door and go to the closet to collect my jacket.
I walk out the door and head toward the sidewalk. He offers his arm and we walk together.
"So why did you ask me to walk with you?" I ask
He looks at me.
"Well I'm just a lonely man trapped in the night who needed some company," he answered back with a mischievous smile.
I looked away, "but why did you ask me?"
He put his hand on my cheek and neared my face toward his.
"Because you seemed lonely too, just sitting in the corner of your room."
I was stunned. I pushed his hand off my face and glared at him.
"Were you the one outside my window?"
He got closer to me and whispered in my ear.
"Does that scare you?"
He pulled away and smirked at me.
"Who are you?" I asked unsure of him.
"If I tell you..... would u promise never to tell anyone?" He said looking me dead in the eye.
"Y-yes I promise."
He once again leaned in close to me, "I'm a vampire and so are you."
I looked down at the floor and stumbled to a nearby bench.
A vampire, I thought to myself. How can that be, vampires aren't real. Are they?
I stand up and look at Matt.
"Tell me the truth," I yelled at him.
He looked angry now.
"Forget it, you don't believe me fine. Have fun figuring it out on your own," he said as he stormed off.
When he was a few feet away I began to get scared. What if he's right, am I a vampire. My skin did melt when I was in the sun.
"Wait," I say running up next to him, "I believe you and I'm sorry for making you feel bad."
He stopped walking.
"I'll see you tomorrow okay Dezeray."
I smiled at him.
"Okay."
