Chapter 1-The Mistake

Hey guys so I just wanted to write a new story to see if anyone would like it. I also am writing Unexpected Love, but I just got this idea and I want to put it down.

I was turning 20 tonight, I was feeling good I was hitting my prime years and I could finally feel like an adult. My best friend Leila had this huge party planned and it was supposed to be a surprise. I had figured it out when she had called me and couldn't find the right way to invite me to "dinner". The lights flashed outside the club and I stood waiting. I had to work up the courage to go in there.

I knew I would feel left out, but I always had Tessa to hang out with. I took a deep breath and walked towards the door and took a deep breath. I gave the guys at the door my I.D. and name. They let me in and the room was completely silent. Workers walked between tables carrying drinks.

"Hello." I called out

All of a sudden a large group of people led by Leila jumped up, "SURPRISE!" , they all shouted. I gasped! There were more people than I thought there would be.

I didn't know half of the people standing around me but I recognized a few. Leila came running over and embraced me in a tight hug.

"Happy birthday Rose! Were you surprised? she screeched

"Very surprised Leila! Thank you so much!" I responded

"I knew you would like it! How was the rest of school?"

"Oh it was fine, you know my classes are about bursting my brain but I'll push through."

"That's great love!" she shouted," I knew she wasn't listening, she was focused in on the bar.

"Go have fun Leila I'll find Tessa." She looked concerned and then smiled and ran to the bar to chat with some girls.

I rolled my eyes. Typical Leila, but that's why I loved her. I sat down at a table alone. This sucked, I knew no one and it was supposed to be my party. Two people sat down next to me.

"Well isn't this just the typical lonely old Rosalie Kent." I heard one of the people say. I turned and found Tessa. She looked at me and smiled.

"Happy birthday love." She said

"Yeah happy birthday!" Said another voice. Wait I recognize that voice, I turned and saw one of my best friends. Maxine. I embraced her and pecked her on the cheek.

"Oh my gosh! Max, what the hell are you doing here?" I screamed

"I got out of school early and I wanted to come and spend some time with you. I've got a journalism degree in my hand. I thought I should come see ya on your birthday." She explained

"This is the best present ever! Are you going to stay here in London?" I questioned

"Yeah I thought I would get a job here in London working at a newspaper."

"That's fantastic! I missed you so much!" I embraced her again

"I missed you too Rose. So tell me, why are you sitting here alone when you could be dancing with a beautiful British boy on the dance floor. Your 20, drink, get drunk you've hit the real adult age!" She screamed and pulled me to the dance floor.

We grinded and danced like crazy. We went to the bar and got shots. Leila came over and did shots with us. I was starting to feel a buzz throughout my body. We went back to the dance floor and I danced with guys that I didn't know. Leila came up to me really drunk.
