Frosch is missing (Part 2)

Rogue's POV

"I'll be with Rogue."

I felt my cheeks heat after I heard Rosalie. I turned around preventing myself from further embarrassment and waved my hand.

"Let's go already. We need to find him before it gets dark."

I heard Sting groan behind me and saw Yukino shyly walking towards him. He smiled at her but not with that creppy grin and instead of harassing her, he placed his hands behind his head. They started walking at the opposite direction without a word.

"Shouldn't we go too?"

I turned around. Rosalie was looking at me, a small smile lighting her face. Her blue hair was following the flow of the wind and her yellowish green eyes were looking right into mine. I stopped myself from staring anymore and nodded.

We started walking around Magnolia. She seemed like she was keeping her distance from me to which I wasn't really surprised. She thought I was freaky anyway.

"So, how does this Frosch fella look like?" She asked.

"He's green and gets distracted really easily," I started explaining, "He also wears a pink frog costume."

"A frog costume?"

"Frosch thought he was a frog from the moment he was born. When he understood this wasn't the case he cried for three days."

"Wow," Rosalie said after which lowered her voice, "It seems familiar."

But I heard her, "Did you say anything?"

"No, nothing." She lied.

What was she hiding? Maybe she had an Exceed too. From the way she reacted when she saw Lector I could only guess this.

"Where should we look?" She asked.

"I don't know," I sighed, "He could be anywhere."

"Hey, look!"

My head immediately snapped in the direction she was looking.

"There's that diner you were talking about."

Are you serious?!

I started walking towards her with an angry glare. I took her hand in mine and pulled her after me. It was embarrassing holding her hand but I had to ignore it for Frosch's sake.

"Chotto-" She tried protesting but I cut her off.

"We don't have time for food now."

I continued dragging her and soon she gave up on freeing herself and just sighed.

Rosalie suddenly stopped to which I stumbled backwards a little.

"Don't stop like that." I told her but she didn't seem like she was listening to me.

"Why is that here?"

I followed her line of sight and saw the massive monster in front of us. It was green and it looked like a big monkey.

Just as I was looking at it it attacked. I jumped out of the way and its fist landed on the ground. I checked to see if the girl was unhurt. She seemed okay so I charged at the monster.

Suddenly, a hand was put in front me. I looked at Rosalie with a confused expression while she just pointed at the creature.

"Is that Frosch?" She asked.

I only now realized that she was talking about the small bag hanging on its chest. I saw a small pink figure laying in it.

I narrowed my eyes at the monkey realizing Frosch was unconscious. He was calmly resting in the bag.

"I'm glad he's safe." I sighed in relief.

"Are you kidding?! We have to rescue him."

"Okay, I'll get Frosch while you distract him. This creatures like human women."

"You're gonna use me as bait?"

I didn't answer just jumped towards Frosch. The monkey was about to hit me when I heard Rosalie's voice.

"Kocchi, kocchi!" She said in a more seductive voice.

"A human woman." The monkey spoke in a happy tone.

"Hair, hai. Nē, would you come closer? I want to tell you something."

I had to admit - she was good. The monster quickly forgot about me and I managed to steal the bag with Frosch in it.

I landed next to her as she was winking towards the Big Guy.

"That's about enough, right?" She smiled at me.

I laughed a little, "Doesn't seem like that's the first time you had to do this."

She made a grimace, "It's not."

"I think Sting will be glad to hear that." I teased her.

She waved her index finger in front of me, "Don't even dare."

As we were talking I heard that the monkey was charging. But I couldn't react fast enough. I managed to dodge but in the process I dropped Frosch. The creature's punch landed right in the place we were.

I dropped down on the ground. There was no sign of Rosalie anywhere too. What have I done?
