~Auburn's (Shane) P.O.V.
Ever since that night in the hospital, everything is slowly shifting back into place. Dre is out of the hospital but is still on crutches after the car accident of course. We no longer have to caution ourselves and the drama seems to be over. I went along and hired that divorce lawyer, as the officer, who is in charge of my case, had directed. In turn meaning, Demetrius is facing up to 18 or so years for domestic violence, attempted murder and drug charges. I hadn't heard from him but the officer has assured me his case is getting brought up in a few days and I'm actually happy to finally be able to say good riddance.
"Wifey!" I heard Dre yell from the bedroom.
I chuckled to myself a little and went to go check on him. He's being a big baby, the doctor gave him the clear to move around but he feels 'he's not ready yet'. He's lucky I love him or I wouldn't be taking care of his whiny behind.
I walked into the room and he was struggling to reach for the remote.
"Please do not tell me this is why you called me in here." I laughed handing it to him.
"No, actually I was lonely and wanted you in here with me." He said patting the spot beside him.
"Why didn't you just come downstairs then?" I sighed sitting next to him on the bed.
"I actually wanted to discuss some things with you." He laid his head in my lap.
"Okay...what's up?"
"I've been thinking about us a lot lately and I'm seriously ready to get married. So I was hoping that you know, you'd be my wifey for real. This playing house shit isn't fun if there's not much commitment or a rock on your finger. So with that being said, be my wifey. You can't say no either because Kayla told me it was okay." He pulled out a Tiffany box and I couldn't help the tears that poured out of my eyes.
I nodded my head, yes, in response to his proposal.
"Nah, baby, use your words." He spoke, grinning.
"Yes I'll be your wifey." I smiled through all of my sobbing.
I leaned forward and kissed him.
"EWW!" Kayla screamed running into the room.
"Oh hush. What do you need?" I asked her laughing.
"Nothing, I just wanted to come in here with you guys." She said sprawling out in the middle of them bed. "So, Dre, did she say yes?" She asked rolling over on her stomach facing us.
"You know it, Special K." They dapped each other up and I just laughed.
"Special K?" I questioned after a moment.
"Yeah, it's an 'us' thing. You wouldn't understand." Dre said laughing.
"Yeah, you wouldn't understand." Kayla said cosigning.
"You've turned my kid against me. I'm wounded." I gasped dramatically.
I began tickling Kayla and Dre tickled me and before we knew it we were in an all out pillow fight. No lie it was so fun until we all became hungry and Dre's phone began to ring. He picked it up and immediately frowned. I looked at him and mouthed 'Who is it?' He flashed the phone screen to me and I sighed a little. It was his mother and I know she's going to want to talk to me.
Ever since she was released from the hospital, she's been on me like a gnat. By that I mean the woman actually likes me, I'd be happy if it wasn't a pestering affection. She bugs me, always wanting to hang out or prying into Dre and I's life. I don't dislike her but she doesn't need to know everything. If it were up to me, she wouldn't know about our wedding until three days prior, just so she can't butt into our plans.
