"Brian!" I called out when I woke up the next morning. I heard a light flip on somewhere else in the building and something crash to the ground. Brian slid into the room and flipped on the light in the room. I laughed as I sat up.
"Yes?" He asked.
"We need to talk," I said. He walked over and sat on the end of the bed.
"What's on your mind, baby?" He smirks, making me laugh.
"We need to get out of here," I replied. His face turned serious.
"But you will get hurt," he said, "The kidnapper will find you and kill you."
"How do you know that he's even watching us?" I asked, "He could have said that just to scare you."
"But how do we know that he isn't?" He asked.
"That's a small risk I'm willing to take to get out of this bird cage," I replied.
"Bird cage? That's a pretty good metaphor," he said.
"Yeah, and I'm no bird. So I want to leave, now," I said.
"Okay, but still. We can't leave, you could get hurt and I would be so upset if something happened to you because I let you go through with this," he said.
"Then I'll have to leave without your approval," I said.
"Fine," he said, "I know that I won't be able to keep you from going." He smiled and ruffled my hair. I slapped at his hand a giggled.
"Stop!" I complained. Then my dream came flooding back to my mind. "Brian, I had this weird nightmare last night."
"Tell me about it," he insisted.
"Well, in one part, you were chasing me and then you stabbed me, then it changed to where I was in my living room and you were calling 911 because somebody shot me," I summed up.
"Oh my gosh," he said, his eyes as big as golf balls.
"And I want you to tell the truth. Which one is really you?" I asked.
"Obviously the second one! I wouldn't kill a fly, and you know that," he said.
"Okay," I said. He kissed my forehead for affirmation.
"I would never hurt you," he whispered in my ear. He kissed me and hugged me.
"Thanks for giving me confidence in you," I smiled. Right at that moment, Kayla woke up.
"Woah, I'll leave the love birds alone," she smirked. She stood up and walked down the hall to Henry's room.
"I think I'm falling in love with you," he smiled.
"Same here." I kissed his cheek and smiled. And I knew he would never hurt me, it was just my mind playing with me. And I was going to escape. Today.
