Patrick watched as his hair fell from his head to the floor like all those shampoo and conditioner he bought was for nothing.
All these time Richie was buzzing his hair off like it was a lawn which needed to be mowed, Patrick was smiling.
"Are you always this happy when you get a haircut?" Richie asked his eyes still focused on Patrick's head.
"No." Patrick chuckled. "I don't know, everything that's happening right now is so overwhelming." His smile went to a serious face.
Richie stops and looked at Patrick's reflection in the mirror.
Richie is not that stupid to know that there's something going on with Patrick and Kevin. Well, he certainly didn't see it when they were on a break from each other.
"It's just easier to laugh it off." Patrick shrugged and smiled again.
"I know what you mean." Richie just smiled so Patrick won't feel stupid.
"So how are you and Brady?" Patrick didn't feel as awkward now as before bringing up Brady to the conversation.
Brady used be like some sort of an outsider from the little world Patrick and Richie built.
"We're alright" Richie walked in front of Patrick and looked if the side burns are even.
"Good for you, I like seeing one of my friends happy." Patrick teased, looked up and met Richie's eyes.
"We're not that close Patrick" he shook his head jokingly.
"Oh ha ha" Patrick felt this surge of happiness knowing that they can just talk like this to each other now without referring to their past.
"Hey listen." But Patrick has to go back down that memory lane "When we were going out, did you ever have secrets from me?"
Richie stopped,"I thought you didn't wanna talk about it?" And continued on.
"Well, yesterday I was styling my hair and now I want it all cut." Patrick said sarcastically.
Richie laughed "Not all of it, I don't want a Bald friend."
Patrick pretended to be shocked with his mouth slightly opened "I thought we weren't that close."
"Didn't see that backfire." They both looked at each other in the mirror and laugh.
"But, no. I didn't have any, well except that I'm uncut." Richie chuckles.
Patrick closed his eyes as he remembered the first time they almost did it "Oh God don't bring that up." This topic seemed to be sensitive before but now even Richie jokes about it.
"I was just making you calm down. You look so worried." Even though Patrick was smiling Richie saw past it.
"Who wouldn't? I moved in with someone I thought I knew." Patrick took a deep breath.
"What did he do?" Richie stops again from evening Patrick's hair and looked at Him in the mirror.
Patrick's eyebrows met and the lines in his forehead formed. "Well I found out he still has a Grindr account."
"Patrick I think it's fair to say that every gay person has that app on their phone." Richie smiled to thin out the tense air around Patrick.
"I don't" Patrick said, it was almost a whisper.
"But you probably did at one point." Richie shrugs.
"Why didn't he delete his account? Is it like whenever I'm not around he calls someone else to fuck him or something?" Patrick was mad just by thinking about it.
