Chapter 1
Their once was a nice little town just 10 miles away from Arizona. One day the town all vanished because of one small girl. her name was Emma but everyone called her Smiley. Every mounth she came down to town to get some food or shoes. She spreaded darkness behind her. Every step is a persons heartbeat taken away. Smiley always had her head down strait black hair in her face. She went to school just like any other child.
"Whats up with that weird girl?" said lilly chewing her gum nervously. "I dont know. No one knows really" Mary said chewing her gum while looking at smiley. They sat down looking at her like she wasn't even a living thing. They soon got up when Smiley disapeared. "Hey my name is Linzy and whats yours?" said Linzy stopping Smiley with a stop. Smiley walked around the girl looking at her growling. "Okay talk to you later i guess." Said Linzy shocked.
Everyone soon gathered to their classes quickly. "Now class we are now reading a book called The Secret Edge." Mrs.Tompson said to the class while smiley came in. "Hey look its the creepy girl!" Said John in a goofy voice. "John be nice! This is the new girl Emma. Would anyone like to be partners with her while we're reading?" Said Mrs.Thompson. No one raised their hands. "Anyone?" Said Mrs. Thompson. Still no one did anything. The room was quiet. Not one peep not even a single single pencil tapping. Even the mouse that was hidden in the walls didnt even make a sound. "Alright then i guess i have to pick someone." Said Mrs.Thompson. The teacher looked around slowly trying to pick the most perfect one for Emma. "Emily how about you?" Said Mrs.Tompson with a smile. The teacher let Smiley next to Emily. Emily wasn't happy at all but she held out her hand and produced herself. Emma didn't budge.
