I swung open the doors when I heard those words, surprised and a tad angry. If he felt this way why didn't he tell me earlier? Couldn't he have spared me the tears?

I stared into his eyes, searching them. His eyes were red and puffy, his cheeks red from the cold air and I wondered if he had walked to my apartment.

"I want t-to talk with y-you. P-please," his voice shook, tears threatening to spill over. His black hair was tangled and messy, so unkempt that he looked as though he hadn't brushed it in years. His clothes hanging off his body that once looked god-like.

I looked at him, my heart racing. Before I could thoroughly think everything I over, I gestured for him to come inside. He nodded, looking grateful, and walked in.

After I prayed that Jinx wouldn't be home for a while longer, I shut the door.

I sat down on the couch, folding my legs underneath me. Gerard followed my lead and also sat on the couch, far enough away that I could keep my thoughts pure.

"I'm s-so so fucking sorry, Kendra," He put his face in his hands, his right leg bouncing up and down furiously.

"We hardly even know each other," I whispered, not necessarily intended for him to hear.

He shook his head in his hands, and I could see as his body shook. My breath hitched as I looked up to the ceiling. I didn't want to see Gerard crying.

Gerard. A word so foreign, yet frighteningly familiar. How could I, boring old Kendra Reeds, find myself stuck in the middle of this hell of a situation? I took a breath in, feeling as though I hadn't tasted oxygen in forever.

"I have a doctor's appointment. Two days." I glanced over at him, seeing as too took in long breath. He looked into my eyes, his hazel irises taking me slightly aback. Why hadn't I noticed earlier?

"I-I want to go want to go with you. I want to be there, I don't know how well I'll be as a father, but-"

I wrapped my arms around his waist. "Thank you, Gerard. Thank you."

He sniffed, wiping tears from his eyes. I took in the moments of silence before I heard his voice, quieter than a whisper saying "Of course Kendra. Of course."
