I sat there, rushing water trickling through my toes. I felt the mud soak into my worn jean shorts. This simple place made me feel relaxed and welcome. I threw my head back and looked up through the lucious green trees to see the blue summer sky hanging above me.
Who says, who says you're not perfect?
I groaned as I reached into my pocket to pick up the phone.
"Hello?" I answered with slight additude. I'm not trying to sound like a diva, but I hate when people disrupt my alone time.
"Gabana Louis Mooney! Where are you?" My mother talked through the phone in her annoying, squeaky voice.
"Um, I'm-"
"No excuses young lady! It is time for dinner and your father just got home."
"Okay, be there in a sec," I quicky hung up the phone and left the creekside. Pushing through branches, weeds and tree trunks, I made my way up to the trail. I hopped on my bike and started for home.

Almost out of breath, I stopped my bike in the driveway. I patted down my blouse as I entered my antique, Birmingham, Michigan house. It was the biggest house on the downtown street, and very centrally located so my mother and older sister, Lauren, could shop at the nearby mall.
Opening the door, I was greeted by my father,"Gabby! How are you?" He pulled me into a tight hug. I could see Lauren over his shoulder, she was standing with her arms crossed, cursing me with her eyes.
"Hi daddy! I missed you so much! How was your business trip?" I asked, not really caring how his business trip was or not.
"Well, Miss.Gabby, we will just have to chat about that over dinner," he motioned for me to have a seat at the table. I sat across from Lauren, while my mother and father sat across from eachother. Lauren always tried to kiss up to dad, she was always so jealous of my relationship with him.
We sat and ate our meal as Susana and Liz, our maids, brought out each course. Dad talked about his business trip, Lauren bragged about her boyfriend, and mom complained to the maids about their food. It was rare if I ever talked during dinner, I would rather be at the creek.
"May I please be excused?" Lauren asked in her goody-two-shoes tone.
"Yes you may honey," my mom answered back, "Oh, and I must leave too! I just remembered that Buzz is coming tonight!"
Buzz was my mom's personal trainer. He always creeped me out, especially when he tried to talk to Lauren and I.
"Alrighty then," my dad said sternly, "I guess we will just have to watch," he paused, "Lady and the Tramp!"
My dad and I jumped out of our seats and ran to the movie theatre downstairs. Prada, our yellow labradoodle puppy, followed.
"I'll pop the popcorn!" My dad hollered.
"I'll put the movie in!" I hollered back. I loved spending time with my dad, we have so much in common.
We both watched our favorite movie together intently. Prada sat by my side and barked whenever she heard a dog bark on the screen. My dad and I laughed when Prada tried to attack it, as if it were real.
By the time the credits rolled around, I was fast asleep. My dad always carried me to bed, I didn't weigh much for a 16 year old.
This time, when my dad was carrying me upstairs, I slightly awoke. He layed me down in my bed and kissed my forehead.
"Goodnight squirt," He whispered into my ear. Then, I heard the light flip off and drifted to sleep again.

The next morning, I rode my bike to the creek, only to find out that I wasn't alone.
