"Just to say again call me Jack not Jackson" Jackson said to Kira a little enraged "Fine" Kira answered. They were walking a familiar route to school when they stopped dead in their tracks they both saw a little girl just sitting at the side of the sidewalk. The girl was dressed in rags and had no shoes. She was just looking at the horizon; next to her were a cracked, old bowl and a sign. The sign said "I am a blind little girl, in need of money and food". They assumed that the writing was done by the little girl's parents. They never saw the little girl before but they still felt pity on her. They approached her and Kira said "Here you go" while giving her some biscuits that her mom gave her. The little girl looked at their direction and Jack also offered her some money. The girl felt the two hands of Jack and Kira. When she took the things that they gave her she said "thank you for your kindness". And with that Kira and Jack took off for school. After their school they went to their dojo for their martial arts class, since they both took an interest in it. They were learning how to use a Bo staff. After their lesson they said goodbye to their sensei and started went back home with only the light of the setting sun to guide them. On their way home they ran across the little girl they gave biscuits and money. On hearing their voices, since they were talking to each other, the little girl ran to them and gave them two individual rings and said "These are gifts for your kindness" and added specific instructions "Only wear this on the day of the Equinox, Midsummer Eve, and it will bring you both luck". After the little girl said that she departed leaving two bewildered teenagers in her midst.
