My dreams were yours to take,
Though I don’t even know you.
I try for my family’s sake
to leave this in the rearview.
You’ve caused me so much grief,
There’s so much pain in how I live.
You’re nothing more than a thief,
You’re a monster I can’t forgive.
All my brothers live my dream,
and I’m stuck on the side line.
This is a wrong you can’t redeem,
I won’t pretend that I’m fine.
With the glass my joy was shattered,
On the night you won’t remember.
All the pieces, small and scattered,
Melt away like a burning ember.
You monster how did you not see
My dreams lying in the headlights?
You drank poison yet it’s killing me,
I won’t pretend that I’m alright.
I could have been great too,
but because of you I’m broken.
I swear I truly hate you,
I don’t regret what I’ve spoken.
