"That's the one," Pyrrha answered.
Ruby remained silent for a moment, then burst into a sudden flurry of words.
"TheSchneeRustCompanyisliterallythe 'monopoly'ofthecarindustryorsomy UncleQrowcallsitI'veseentheiroffice buildingit'shuuuugeohdoyouknow WeissSchneeshe'sonlythebESTfencerin thecountryprobablytheworld! And-" she bit her tongue when she noticed the bewildered look on Pyrrha's face.
Ruby did her nervous hair thing and grinned apologetically. "Sorry, I tend to ramble when I get excited." Pyrrha laughed. "That's okay, I understand. But you were wondering if I knew Weiss? Actually-" she was cut off by a shout from across the street. "That's my afternoon snack money!" Pyrrha and Ruby looked from the cafe to each other again. "That was Jaune!"
The girls dashed across the street as quickly as they could to find Jaune on the ground next to a toppled chair, shaking his fist at someone as they escaped around a building corner.
"The nerve of some people..." Jaune struggled to stand up, holding his side. Pyrrha ran to his aid. "Jaune! Are you okay?" She put a hand on his shoulder and stayed close in case he needed to lean on her.
Jaune grimaced and lightly brushed Pyrrha's hand off his shoulder as he turned around. "I'm fine," he replied, "but thanks for the concern." Pyrhha stepped back. "Y-you're welcome. But who was that just now? And what exactly happened?"
"Well, I was just sitting here-" Jaune gestured to the toppled chair "-when I thought something was coming near my backpack on the ground. I looked to see what was there when I was suddenly dumped out of my chair, and I tried to grab the guy's leg as I fell. But he ran away with my wallet before I could get him, and that's when you guys came. Good thing my parents don't trust me with a credit card yet, and I only had about 20 dollars in there," he chuckled uneasily.
Pyrrha sighed. "That's-" Ruby stepped forward. "I'm going after him." Jaune and Pyrrha gave her the same bewildered look. "What?"
"It's 20 dollars!" Jaune exclaimed. Ruby countered, "Yeah, and how much did that wallet cost?" Jaune thought about it and opened his mouth, but by the time he could respond, Ruby was gone.
Pyrrha watched a rose petal fall just in front of her face and looked in the direction the thief had gone. Although Ruby had run off in the blink of an eye, she left a trail of fresh red rose petals behind her. Pyrrha decided not to question it, but Jaune picked one up. "We gotta go after her!"

"Stop right there!" Ruby skidded to a halt in front of the thief, his physical features a silhouette in the shadows of the buildings around them. She'd taken a moment to find him, but her speed easily herded him into an alley corner.
"Give me that wallet!" she exclaimed. "It belongs to my friend." The thief didn't answer and backed further down the alleyway, glancing at the sky. "There's nowhere to go!"
The thief continued looking at the clouds when footsteps echoed from the alleyway. "Ruby!" The thief looked back down at the little brunette as Ruby lunged out, bracing herself for impact.
Pyrrha approached the place she heard Ruby shouting, with Jaune not far behind. Ruby was on the floor, all alone. She sat up. "Are you injured?" Pyrrha asked. Ruby shook her head. "And the thief?"
"Gone..." Ruby tilted her head upwards. "One second I thought I had him, the next he disappears." Pyrrha followed Ruby's gaze. "To the roofs?" "I'm honestly not sure. Like I said, he disappeared." Meanwhile, Jaune wandered around the alley searching for clues, but he came up with nothing.
Ruby stood and turned to Jaune. "I didn't get a good look at him. Did you?" "Nope."
Pyrrha joined them. "Well, whoever it is, hopefully we'll run into them again. Under more favorable circumstances, of course." The other two nodded, and they left the shadowed alleyway together.
