Prologue/Chapter 1:

Fuck him. Why is it that he finds his slutty girlfriends more important than his little brother? Because of that asshole, I have to walk home in the rain. So now, I'm completely soaked and freezing. Maybe if there wasnt practically a monsoon going on outside, I wouldnt mind as much. After all, who could blame him? No one wants to spend their Friday afternoon picking up their little brother from school. But its not all sunny and pleasant outside, its cold and uncomfortable with the rain pelting down on my already tired body. Lugging around my bag isnt really helping the situation either. As you can see, I'm really looking forward to this two hour long walk back home.

Normally I would walk on the trail that led through the forest, but my mom said I should stay away from that area from now on. Lately, the police have been finding bodies scattered around the area, so its being fenced off until they can find and stop whatever- or whoever- is doing this. As of right now, the police isnt really sure if its a wild animal, or if its a pissed off psycho path. The bodies that they've found are in various different conditions. Some were torn to peices, and now are nothing but a mangled body beyond recognition. A few others werent as viciously killed, they were simply stabbed in the throat... Well, its still not a very nice way to go, but its better than the others.

The sudden sound of thunder and a flash of lightening made me jump and let out a small scream (manly, I know). One thing is for sure though, I'm definitely not going to keep going in this storm for another two hours. I know its a big risk, but I'm just going to end up drowning in this flood if I dont get home soon enough.

There hasnt been a body found in about two months anyways, so I'm sure it was just an animal and its probably either dead, or it ran away. I'm pretty sure its not gonna be trying to find something to eat in this mess even if it is alive anyways.

So I turned towards the direction of the forest and ran towards the beginning of the trail. The second I was under the trees the almost painful thudding of raindrops stopped and was replaced by soft sprinkles of water here and there. Despite being under the trees, the rain still flowed freely down the trail, making it hard to keep track of what was the trail, and what wasnt.

The mud sloshed around my feet, the slick ground making it hard to walk around without falling. The trail had some steep areas that I wasnt necassarily looking forward to, especially since I was already stumbling around and I was on level ground.

When I reached a hill that I was going to have to climb down, I wasnt very excited about it. The water had now risen to my ankles, and as I started climbing down, I was seriously questioning my choice to come into the woods.

At the moment, I was clutching onto a rock potruding from the ground, hating myself for not turning back when I had the chance. Now, I would welcome the long walk home rather than this death trap. So instead of continuing down the hill, I decided it would be best to go back up and find my way back to the road.

I took a deep breath and lunged forward to grab onto the tree near me, but I just barely missed the branch I was aiming for, and I was sent tumbling down. Sticks and rocks cut through my skin, and the dirty water made the sting worse than it already was. The air was knocked out of my lungs as my back was thrown repeatedly on the ground and my bag was long gone.

By the time I reached the bottom of the hill, my entire body was aching and in pain. But I couldnt just sit in the rain, in a forest that was flooding. So I groaned as I managed to get myself into a sitting position and I worked the kinks out of my neck and back.

I struggled to stand up, but I eventually found myself on my two feet.

And that was when I noticed my fall had caused me to lose my place on the trail, and I now had no idea where I was.
