Screwed

Wide-eyed and terrified, I stare at the five big men whose holding their guns towards Enzo and Vera while they are exiting the gun shop. I panicked, are we being held hostage? Or are we going to die today? These are the questions that terrifies me. I looked at Calum and I see that he also looks intimidated by our captors, after all they are all big guys. They look like bouncers in a club. I swallowed as they were getting near us, Enzo and Vera got both of their hands in the air while holding their guns still. 

"Oh, so you got company!" One of the big guys said, then grins.

"Just set us free, please." Vera said, I looked at her direction, deeply shocked. Is that her who spoke? It can't be. She looks different, she looks afraid. I look over at Calum whose as confuse as I was. He shrugged at me. I raise my eyebrows at him. Never have I imagine I would hear Vera say please with that kind of voice.

"Don't worry lady, this death will be quick. No zombies involved that'll eat your flesh." The big guy who spoke earlier said, he's the one who seems in charge, the other men laughed. The guy drop his gun to his side and walked to approach Vera. When the guy is 1 foot close to her, he stopped. He inspected Vera's gun. "What a catch you got here lady. I want this rifle." He move his other hand without a gun to snatch the rifle out of Vera's hand when all of a sudden Vera kneed him in the groin and quickly pick up the man's gun that he dropped on the floor. The other guys became more alert at the sight. 

Vera aimed the gun at the guy and spoke, "Move away or I'll shoot you." The man that he groined glared at her as the other three men pointed their guns at her, the other two had their attention at Calum, Enzo and I. "Shoot any of us, and I won't hesitate to fire." Vera warned. "Move away!" Vera repeated her command at the man in front of her. The man had moved 5 feet away from her when Vera spoke again. "Stop there." she said, indifferently. 

"No one touches that rifle." Enzo says, holding back a laugh. He doesn't seem nervous at all.

I looked at Calum, and he grinned at me. He looks confident, too. I looked at him as if asking, What is so funny? Where in the middle of trouble here. And then I realized what he's so amused about, its Vera and the way she pretended that she's harmless and afraid so that the guy would go near him. He continues to grin at me.

"Enzo, come here at my side." Vera ordered, the men watched Enzo as he approach her sister. "Both of you, get inside the vehicle." The men watched as we move towards the vehicle, grinning. 

"You can't escape here lady." One of the men told Vera. "You'll die here with your friends and we'll have your rifle and that pretty armored vehicle right there." The man motioned to our vehicle. The four other men laughed.

"Who told you were gonna escape?" Vera replied, emotionless.

Calum and I looked at each other as we fixed our selves inside the vehicle, Calum is on the driver's seat and I am beside him. Both of us looked at the scene outside the vehicle again.

Enzo and Vera glanced at each other. Enzo held two hand guns at both arms, both are Desert Eagle .50 AE, according to him. The guy love guns, I can tell. 

Enzo glanced at us and wink. Then I see that he motions his hands beyond the men's sight in a twirling manner then points in front of them. He looked back at the men again while his arms are still at his back. 

I looked at Calum, "What does he wants us to do?" Calum asked. 

I wrinkled my forehead and said. "I think they want us to position the vehicle in front of them for cover."

"Look!" I told him as I see Enzo's fingers seemingly getting ready to count off.

Calum started the engine. I am looking at the men and I see that they are getting alert and slightly confused at the same time. Calum and I look at Enzo's fingers, 5... 4... 3... 2... 1..

Calum drove the vehicle and positioned it in front of Vera and Enzo while the other two open fired at the enemy, we nearly hit the man who approached Vera a while ago if the man hadn't quickly ran. I see as three of the men lied lifeless in the ground, and the other two took cover inside the gun shop. 

Calum and I quickly got out of the vehicle and rejoined Enzo and Vera, taking cover too.

"Nice work, lads. Glad you get what I'm saying." Enzo grinned at us. 

I looked at Vera and she nods. Maybe that's her way of acknowledging us. So I also nodded.

"The other two is still out there, we need to wipe them out before they got a way to be closer. There's no way we can fight them in a hand-to-hand combat." Vera says.

"How can we lure them out?" Enzo asked her sister.

"I think I have an idea." Calum suggested.

And we all look at him, hopeful that it will work.
