Drew stared at his phone screen on his bed. His tired emerald eyes traced the headline on his phone.

Drew tossed the phone aside and rolled on his side, facing the moonlit town.

A memory was playing in his mind once more

----

" C'mon, c'mon, c'mon! Drew hurry up! We need to get in line!" May dragged  Drew to a popular restaurant. The line was seven meters long.

"Are you sure that the food even is worth it?"  Drew complained.

"Of course it is! Always follow the locals, they know where all the hottest spots are!"  May grinned, giving him a thumbs up.

"I honestly don't care about the taste of food. As long the food is edible,  somewhat healthy, and fast, I'll take it."  May's eyes widen.

"How!? A part of traveling is finding the best places to eat!"

Drew lips played a smirk, "Is this how you spend all your time? No wonder I always beat you in contests."  Drew smiled inwardly as May got in his face. Their eyes were only centimeters apart.

"No, I just like eat good stuff! There's more to world is more than just training y'know!" She pouted.

"Maybe, but at this rate, all you're going to eat my dust." That got May fuming.

"You want a fight? Fine! Let's leave this joint and find a battlefield! Then you're going to eat your own words!" May stormed onto the road. Drew followed her, fully amused. A car quickly zoomed onto the road. Drew eyes widen.

"MAY!!! GET OFF THE ROAD!!!!"  he bolted up to May. May turned to him, puzzled. The car was getting closer.

"MAY!!"  The car crashed into May with full force. The brunette shrieked in agony. Drew caught her as she was knocked back. From the sudden force, he fell onto the ground. Drew hissed in pain.

The car just zoomed off, leaving the scene.

Drew sat up and gasped at his rival. May was coughing out blood, her face turning ghostly pale.

"May! hold on, I need  get you to a hospital." Drew told her, trying to smooth out his voice. He carried her, bridal style.

"Drew..."  The male coordinator glanced at May. Her breathing was extremely thin and uneven. Blood was leaking down her mouth. Drew stopped as she squirmed.

"Don't move, you're going make your injury worst. Just rest, okay? I'll do everything else." Drew whispered tenderly. "I Promise."

He planted a kiss on her forehead. Drew breathed in her scent, which was mixed with blood. May slowly calmed down.

He continued to sprint desperately to the nearest hospital. Hope flared as a hospital came in his vision.

"...Drew.....stop."

"Not much longer now." Drew shushed her gently.

"stop..." Drew ignored her quiet plead.

"Drew.....Stop." Drew snapped his head at her. Her words almost sapped all her strength. He never seen her so frail.

"Just...please..." May took in another breath, "..stop...."  Drew shook his head stubbornly.

"We're almost at the hospital. Just hang on!"  He told her hoarsely. "I'm not going let you die!"

May weakly caressed his cheek. Tears welled up in his emerald eyes.

"....I'm sorry...."

Drew closed his eyes, and sighed. He picked up his phone, rereading the headline:

Female coordinator May died in a tragic car accident.
