Midnight

The rain could drown me , But then again , So could my tears.

"hey mum , will I be big and powerful too? Just like my brothers and sisters ?" Said a white fox .He had big blue eyes (unlike the rest of his family who had grey eyes )and big ears ,that had a small bit cut of on both sides , with a fluffy tail , he had a fluffy chest and pink skin under there fur . He had a small triangle noes , and scruffy fur around its face . He had sharp claws and was curdled up in a ball next to its mum . He was the youngest one out of them all , like the black sheep of the family ( although the they would never admit it they secretly new he where ) and was born bang on Midnight. He had a very clumsy personality and was also very curious .

" of corse , my little Midnight !  I bet you'll be even stronger!" Said his mother patting them on their head.

"Really ?!" Midnight screamed getting His hopes up

"Shut up , twerp !" Said his older brother

"Mummy said I'll be stronger than you ! So ... So I'm going to try my hardest !" Said Midnight standing on all fours growling at his siblings .

" ha , like that will work !" Growl their brother back , with all the siblings laughing . Their parents got up and walked away ,out of the small brown cave they where in and into the rain.They thought that one day they would all have to stick up for them selfs , so a few fights between siblings wouldn't hurt . In fact it would just make them stronger .

Midnight suddenly grew tears in his eyes "N-no ! I will !"

"Cry baby , cry baby " they all sang laughing at him . He but his lip holding back the tears . Just you wait , he thought , one day , one day .

"Day-light hope James ... That will be her name !"

" is that how you came up with my name mummy ?"

"Yep , my little sweet cakes ." Said Daylights mum giving her a hug ."now time for bed ... Good night ~"

"Good night mummy " said Daylight grabbing her teddy bear with two button eyes , and tucking herself in "love you ..."

"Love you too sweet pee" and with that Daylights door slowly closed .

A few years later ...

" you  shouldn't be hunting with us twerp !"

" oh yeah, and what are you gonna do about it ?" Midnight snapped , he had grown older over the last few years , but nothing about him had changed ... He looked the same and was still the same height as he was , small and fragile .

He watched as his older brother gritted his teeth . His brother was older than him and looked like a proper adult fox , tall , smart , fast and a long tail . Midnight was very small, and only came up to his brothers knee ,  and not so fast so he was just a little bit behind him and pretending to not be out of breath . Although Midnight was only 12 and his brother was 18 he thought he should be a little taller , but life decided for him not to be .  

Midnight sighed " why can't I just fit in ?" He muttered to himself .

His brother stopped running and turned around looking at Midnight , who was sitting down talking to a red Lilly flower , he ripped the Lilly of its root and placed on top of his hear . Mother will like this one , he thought to him self proudly , she has so many Lilly's  but none in red . He smiled at him self and looked up at the flower  that was sitting it the middle of his head " ahh" he said closing his eyes .

His brother burst out laughing

" ok , my little sister -"

"I'm a guy ..." Midnight said unamused.

" aw but you look like a really cute as a ,girl." He said taking a step closer to him.

Midnight gave him an evil look , but he just started laughing again  .

" listen I'm not in the mood for your jokes ... I could rip you apart , if I wanted to !" Looking up at him as he walked closer .

" oh really ?"

" y-yeah..." He started to lose confidence now , no don't back down to him ! He thought .

" attack me then ..." He said stopping .

Midnight took a few steps back , and rushed into the bushes around him . He was going to attack him from behind . He was trying to keep quiet  as his feet crunched on the branches beneath him . He stared at his brother for quite some time , until he attacked .

This could be it !

But he failed .

His brother tuned round just at the right moment . And caught him by the tail .

" ahh , oww ... Your gonna stretch my tail !"

" yeah ? Well that's what you get ... Don't pick a fight with me again ! Now I have to carry you home -"

" you could put me down ." Midnight stared at him with puppy dog eyes .

" I was suppose to catch food for us tonight , then you came and said you wanted to come , I agree like the big , kind brother I am " he was obviously lying " and now we got nothing ..."

" I said  , you can put me down . So that you don't have you carry me "

" oh no ! You'll just run away , you've done that before ..."

So that was it , Midnights brothers was carting him home by the tail . He was a total failure... All he had now was he red Lilly .He lifted his hand up and grabbed the Lilly . He hugged the Lilly  .

" and that thing ... Get rid of it ..."

" no" Midnight said sticking his nose in the air .

" kid I'm gonna -" he stopped . Stopped walking , stopped talking , everything . He grew an evil smile and bit hard on Midnights tail .

" ahh , what you -" Midnight looked at him . " no - no - no ."

" too late ." He moaned as he was dropped into a massive hole in the ground . " help me up ... Now ! "

" nope " Midnight watched as his brother slowly walked away .

Then he came back .

All of his siblings where laughing at him . Again . Tears grew in his eyes but he fought them back and growled at them all . Louder .

And louder.

And louder .

Until he stopped . He stared at the friend , little bits of electricity where sparking off of him . He looked back at the sky . It had started to rain . He knew that if he stayed here any longer he would either drown because of the rain , or because of his own tears .

" hey mum , I think a storms coming ." Worried Daylight as she came running down the stairs of her house .
