So this seems like a historical fiction. It is, except that the facts might not be historically accurate. I guess it has an element of fantasy. Just take it as an alternate historical universe. By the way, it's set in June 1824 - the Industrial Revolution.
It’s rather a common fact that the belle of the ball... usually gets the beau. I knew that, which was why I refused to get my hopes up about Andrew Wynter.
But, oh, how very handsome he was!
Not many men have eyes the colour of polished ebony, or hair as soft as silk. And practically no one I know has a smile as crooked as his.
