Chapter 2 - No Way (Unedited)

That night wasn't so perfect, but Harmony and Rick, my two older 'siblings' came back from the holiday they went to 2 weeks a go. They accompanied me for a while and explained that I had nothing to worry about and that they would never hurt me. They told me about how they couldn't burn in the sun as long as they were wearing their golden lockets around their necks.

Rick gave me an ordinary looking bracelet which he said would keep me out of trouble. Hmph, like I even get into trouble. My life was too boring for trouble but it seemed to be attracting stress since what happened last night.

Lying on the bed on a Saturday evening at 8 pm sounds crazy but I wasn't really up to anything since the incident that occurred last night. It was so peaceful until my phone beeped at the sound of a text message. Growning, I opened it and saw that it was from Ella.

Ella: So did u guys talk?

Me: Wat? who?

Ella: U knw, hot guy?

Me: Oh plz dnt strt dat agen!

Ella: C'mon, man..no need to b shy ;)

Me: Luk, Ella, nothin gd happened between us, okay? I'm not in a good mood now, so plz, save dat 4 l8tr.

Ella: Erm..okay then, if u insist. bdw, mum said I could have a sleepover at ur house if that's okay wid u.

I couldn't say no, though I wasn't quite ready for a sleepover at this moment. Anything to make my bestie happy, I thought.

Me: Yeah, sure! that would be so cool :D

Ella: Gr8! I'll be wid u in half an hour :) cya, don't miss me 2 much okay, xx

Me: Okay :) lol

Thinking about this little chat I had with Ella has made me feel slightly better. However, the fact that I can't remember my real parents is just what makes me ever so miserable. If only I could get some answers...but my 'family' wouldn't let me. They said it's too risky and that I would know when the time is right. What does that even mean?

It was past 9:00pm and Ella hasn't arrived yet. That was odd, I thought. Her house was exactly half an hour away and it wouldn't normally take her this long. Maybe she was held up by traffic jam or something, that was the only rational explanation I could think of.

Without waiting for any second to pass by, I quickly called her. After two rings she picked up.

''Hey!'' She exclaimed, as if everything is going perfectly fine.

''Hi, where are you? Why is it taking you so long?'' I asked, getting staright to the point.

''You wouldn't believe what happened! I met hot guy while waiting at the bus stop and he offered to take me home with his car.'' She answered, like that was something so ordinary.

''Don't tell me you went with him..''  I said, hoping she didn't go with him. I mean, Ella may be a little naive at times but she wasn't stupid...I think.

''Erm..Becca, I must not tell lies, he is so hot, so why would I say no? I mean he was so nice for offering help and-''

Right then, she hung up and I couldn't understand why. I tried texting her a few times but there were no replies. As I got out from my room in search for Rick and Harmony, my phone beeped again. Fishing my phone out of my pocket, I was relieved to see it was from Ella.

Ella: Hey, we sort of got into a little accident..can you come and get us, please?

First thing that strucked me was that Ella didn't use slang in her text. Scratching that, I quickly replied back.

Me: OMG r u okay?? okay, where r u?

Ella: Yes, we're fine. We're just by the tall tree about 5 minutes from your house, I think.

Me: The tall, odd one with no leaves?

Ella: That's correct, please come quick!

Me: Okay, I'm on my way

Running down the stairs and slipping my jacket on, I turned to open the door.

''Becs, where're you off to at this time of the night?'' Asked Rick. I gulped. I mean, he's my 'brother' after all, I decided to tell him the truth.

''Ella and this weird guy got into a minor accident by the tall tree.'' I answered, looking clearly at his expressions.

''You know, It's not really safe out there...'' He furrowed his eyebrows.

''C'mon, I'm not a baby, I can handle it!'' I shouted.

He nodded. ''Fine, if something goes wrong, just give me a shout.'' He suggested. I always loved how he would be there for me.

Walking down the road, the cold English wind mercilessly whipped my raven black hair around. The whether here sucked big time because it was really messed up. 

I finally arrived where Ella said she'd be and I could see a white car which I assumed to be hot gu - I mean, weird guy's car which didn't even have a scratch on it! And there was no sign of Ella or weird guy... I knew something was up and I should've ran back home but if my best friend was in trouble, I should be there for her right?? I decided to text her and saw that she beat me to it.

Ella: Yep! I can see you, you're so close..just turn to your right and take about 11 steps and then turn right agin.

This was really weird. Why was I given instructions when they can just wave to me or shout if they already see me? As cautious as I was, I began to do as I was told, I took the steps with my gaze down. As I turned right, I almost fainted at the sight of Ella. She was mouth sealed, blind folderd and her hands were tied. 

''Ella!'' I shouted so loud my lungs could rip off. I frantically ran towards her only to be tripped over and kicked in the ribs. I didn't know what was happening, but all I could utter was 'Rick' before my eyes closed, welcoming me to darkness.

I opened my eyes to discover that I was back in my own room. Thoughts about what happened earlier struck me as I jumped off bed.

Only to be confused by my sight of course.

There was Ella, sleeping peacefully in her sleeping bag a few feet from me. I was starting to think whether I've made up the whole scene myself...but looking out the window I was sure it happened.

And quite surprised too.

Weird guy's white car was parked right outside our house which must have meant he was under our roof! I became utterly inflamed at him and I promised to beat the crap out of him if I ever saw sight of him again. Which is why I made my way downstairs to investigate and finish him off.

Glancing at my watch, it was nearly 2am. And it was weird how I couldn't remember what happened after I was knocked off by some idiotic moron.

I could hear chatter and talking coming from the lounge as I entered it dramatically. I closed my eyes, then after everyone quietenned down sensing my presence, I fluttered my eyes back open.

I eyed each person carefully, Mum..dad...Harmony..Weird Guy...Rick- what?? Weird Guy? 

''No Way!'' I shouted as I launched myself at him, loathe and anger fuzzing through me.
