"Kirstin Woods get your butt up! It's the first day of school!" My mom yelled from downstairs.
Today was finally the day, the day everyone dreaded, the first day back to school. I was in my last year of high school, grade 12. I glanced over to my clock it read 6:00am I swear school will be the death of me. I slowly got up from my bed and walked over to my full length mirror. This was a bad idea. I had drool dried up on the corner of my mouth, my hair was sprawled all over and I was sporting the biggest bags underneath my eyes. I walked to my attached en suite and decided to take a shower. I scrubbed my long brown locks with my vanilla scented shampoo, then scrubbed my body with my matching body wash. I got out of my shower and wrapped my self in a towel. I then walked over to my wardrobe and picked out an outfit. I decided on wearing my ripped dark wash jeans with my blue Victoria Secret sweater. Then I made my way back to my bathroom to straighten and pin my hair and apply my makeup.
"Kristen! " my 4 year old sister yelled while I was going down the stairs.
She quickly hoped off the couch and engulfed me in a huge hug. She was the cutest thing ever. She had shiny blonde hair with cute brown eyes she inherited from our mom while I got my dads grey dull eyes. Together we made our way over to the table to have breakfast.
"Are you ready for your first day of your last year in high school?" My mom chorused.
"I mean it's not really that different from any other school year mom. It's the same school, same classes and same old teachers. There's really nothing to look forward to." I replied, "Anyways I need to get going, I can't be late! By mom, bye Bella!"
As I walked out the door I only managed to hear the fist couple words of my moms sentence but I'm guessing it was something like " Have a grade day honey, I love you!" I headed over to my garage where my baby was parked, My 2016 Chevy Cruze. I was given this car for my 16th birthday and I love it to death! I slid my keys into the ignition and rolled down our driveway.
I've finally reached school. I parked my car in an empty parking spot and headed over to the main doors to meet my best friend. It was really easy to spot her. She had dirty blonde locks, blue eyes and the best personality ever!
" Oh my God Kristen I've missed you so much, it feels like I haven't seen you in forever!" She said as she squeezed the life out of me.
" Kate that's because you were in Italy the whole summer visiting your family. But I've missed you too!"
" Oh right haha. Come on we'll catch up at lunch, the warning bell just rung." She said while guiding me through the main entrance. We then bid our goodbyes and headed our separate ways.
My first and favourite class was math. I headed down the hallway and went straight to my math class. I usually sit in the middle row, I have been now since grade 9. Once I sat down in my seat I pulled out my notebook to take notes. Just as the bell rang our teacher Mr. Greene walks into the classroom.
" Good morning class, please flip your page to 216" Mr. Greene said.
This is how our Math class went on, page flipping, note taking and the occasional groan from of my classmates. With about 15 minutes left of class someone barged through the door of our classroom.
"It's so nice you you to join us Jake, but are you aware there's only 15 minutes left of class? You will be joining me for detention tonight" Mr. Greene scolded Jake.
"Sorry bud but I'll be busy tonight" Jake replied.
" Don't bud me, you will be at detention and if you aren't there you'll get 3 weeks of detention. Do I make myself clear?"
" ugh fine" Jake said as he gave in.
The only seats left in the class were on in the back and one beside me. Jake looked at me smirked, and started walking towards me. All the girls checked him out and whispered to their friends. But me, I could care less. Don't get me wrong, he's pretty attractive. With his Carmel coloured hair, toned arms, hard rock abs and those beautiful big brown- okay now I'm getting off topic. Anyways the point is even though he is nice on the eye, I don't fall for his charms. I was snapped out of my thoughts back into reality when Mr. Greene called on me.
"Miss woods, what is (x + 2)2 + (y + 1)2 ? "
"Umm the answer is 13!"
"Right again miss Woods"
"Nerd alert" Jake muttered underneath his breath.
I turned around and said, "excuse me?"
"Yup you heard me." Jake replied.
I turned around with annoyance. God I couldn't wait for this period to be over so I could just go talk with Kate at lunch. For what felt like hours Mr.Greene finally announced class was ended. I literally bolted out of that room to get away from Jake. The rest of the period went by pretty quickly. I only had phys Ed and art left then I was home free. I was now headed to the lunch room where I would meet up with Kate. But first I went into the lunch line and grabbed a Cesar salad and an apple. I looked around the cafeteria and noticed Kate waving her arms like a mad woman. I went to the table she was at and sat down beside her.
" Hey hey hey Kristen. What happening" Kate said cheerfully.
"Your weird, you really are"
Kate just replied with a simple I know.
" Anyways how was for trip Kate! I can't wait to hear all about it!" I asked her with excitement.
" Okay well we visited all over Italy, ate amazing food and went shopping! I had the time of my life there! But I really missed you! " Kate said.
" I know I missed you too girl! I'm glad your back"
With that final sentence the bell rang for our next period. We parted once again and went out own ways. I couldn't wait for this day to end!
