I was in my room, looking out my window at the sea, when all of a sudden, Kaku came in holding a formal-looking envelope with my name on it.

"Here you go, Shouko," Kaku said smiling. I opened the envelope, and my heart felt like it skipped a beat. It was a letter telling me that I was qualified for a job at Dark Abyss, an assassination group know for it's stealth and non-fail policy. The job pays really well, and is located near where my family lives. The letter felt bitter-sweet to me at the time. The job was just what I needed in order to care and provide for myself, but I didn't want to leave the friends that I had come to love, what was I to do? I stared at Kaku who looked at me in a concerned way. I started shaking anxiously.

" What's the matter... you're shaking?!" Kaku asked. I didn't know what to do, so I just rested my head on Kaku's shoulder, and began to cry. Kaku read through the letter and understood what was going on.

"Shouko, do you really want to take the job?" Kaku asked looking me in the eyes. I was torn, between the ones I cared about, and my career. I needed to earn money, I needed a better place to live, sadly, I knew what I had to do. I nodded wiping tears away from my eyes. Kaku hugged me consolingly, he understood. This only made me cry harder. What was I going to tell the others?

"It's okay Shouko, the others will understand," Kaku said "They really care about you, they all want what's best for you. Personally, if I were you I would take the job in a heartbeat. Spandam's a douche, and I hate working for the World Government."

"Y-you would?" I sniffed trying to regain my composure.

"Honestly, we all would if we could, but there aren't too many businesses that will hire trained assassins" Kaku replied. "And those that will hire assassins won't hire a bunch of idiots like Jyaba and Kumadori, honestly those two are hopeless." Kaku shook his head. "You have a good thing going for you, don't let us get in your way of your goals."

"I won't, thanks Kaku" I said feeling better. "Oh, and don't tell the others about the letter yet, I want to tell them at this week's employee meeting."

"Got ya!" Kaku said, smiling sadly.
