Picture is Adriana

Ever since I found what I was, I've stayed hidden in my room, but that all changed when my mom decided to move us all to London, England. Us, including my brother, mom, and me.

My brother is 4 years older than me, a third year in college. He's taking his final year at London University.

I'm 17, a senior in high school. I will never turn eighteen. I'll have to move a lot when people start to wonder why I haven't aged, but I'm good for now.

My mother is 42, and she is a nurse. London needed a few nurses so they transferred my mother there. That's why we moved, of course.

In the new house, I mainly just stay in my room all day. That'll change tomorrow, when I have to go to school. My mom enrolled me as soon as we got here in England.

Sometimes I just stare outside my window. The scenery reminds me of home. There's woods behind our house now, not mountains. That's alright though, it'll be easier to get a meal when it literally lives in your backyard.

"Adriana!" My mother's voice startled me out of my daydreaming. I jumped out of my chair at my desk, overlooking the forest. It would be hard for a human to see outside right now, since it was pouring.

I walked over the beige carpet of my room and outside my white door.

"Yes Mom?" I called as I hopped down the marble spiral staircase that lead straight into the living room. I froze when I noticed six other scents. It wasn't a human scent, but definitely not vampire. What is it? I looked up immediately and saw five people sitting on the dark leather couch across from my mom and brother who sat on the other dark leather couch.

I cautiously eyed the intruders as I slowly walked across the room and sat beside my brother. I stared at the strangers awhile longer before my mother cleared her throat and began to talk.

"This is my old best friend, Helen," you could hear the pride in her voice as she spoke kindly about the woman. Helen smiled and waved. I gave a confused smile back and nodded my head.

"I'm Samuel," the toddler scooted off of Helen's lap and waddled to me, lifting his arms for me to pick him up.

I smiled fondly and lifted him up. I placed him on my lap and he immediately began to play with my hair. My smile grew bigger and I began to rock him gently. A girlish voice cleared and I snapped my head up.

"Hello, I'm Carter," the girl stood and shook my hand. I kept one arm around Samuel, and reached out to shake her hand as well. She smiled and let go.

"I'm Adriana," I smiled, still cautious. She tilted her head and sat back down.

"Your hands are so cold," she commented quietly, quiet so that my mom and brother couldn't hear, but I of course could. The rest of her family looked like they had heard it though.

"I'm Greyson, and this is my brother Xavier," the--I'm assuming-- eldest of the siblings said. I lifted my head and smiled at both of them, but it soon dropped at the smirk Xavier had as he looked me up and down. Greyson looked as though he were in pain and he looked away. I tilted my head in confusion, which caused one of the locks that Samuel was holding to pull a little. Sammy giggled and reached to pat my head, before climbing down and running on his chubby little legs back to Helen. I let out a small laugh and covered my mouth with my hand.

"Well, Helen, did you want to come see the library downstairs?" My mom exclaimed excitedly after a pregnant pause. Helen's face lit up and they both stood.

"Please!" She said with a smile. Samuel clung to her leg as the four of them walked towards the staircase right below the spiral that I came down. This left me with Matt, Xavier, Carter, and Greyson.

"Well, they're going to be down there awhile, follow me if you want to watch a movie or something," Matt announced with a smile. He started to walk to the left of the living room, to the big oak doors that led to the screening room. Carter and Xavier immediately jumped up and followed with excited smiles, while I started to walk up the spiral case to my room.

"Hey," a husky voice announced from the bottom of the spiral. I looked down the few steps to see Greyson, standing still with his hands in the pockets of his black skinny jeans. I smiled and rose my eyebrows, encouraging him to speak.

His whole family, they sort of scare me. What are they? They are obvioulsly not human, but not vampire. What could-

"I just...wanted to I guess... I mean... D-Do you want to go out and get some dinner or something? Xavier and Carter make me watch films all the time and I just I don't really want to watch one right now and I saw that you weren't going to watch the film either so I just figured you m-might want to, you know-" I smiled and cut off his rambling.

"Sure, I'd love to. Let me just grab a coat," I smiled at him and left him dumbfounded as I bounded up the stairs and into my room. I may be vampire, but I can still eat regular food. It just doesn't fulfill my thirst for blood. I got my sweater and my phone, along with my wallet and I went back downstairs. I went down to the library and told my mom where I was going. She smiled and nodded, then waved me off.

I ran back upstairs and to the front door where Greyson was waiting.

"Ready Little One?" I looked up at him, and he had a coy smile spread over his sharp features. I gave him a weird look but smiled nonetheless. He seems to have lost his shy self.

"As ready as I'll ever be, babe," I winked and walked out. Whoa. Did I actually just do that? Shy Adriana, antisocial Adriana, just called someone she barely knew, babe. Hmm, I sort of like this cocky side of my self. I took my keys out of my sweater pocket and walked to my Range Rover my mom preordered to be here once we moved. I walked to the drivers side, to be met with the passenger seat. Oh... I actually have no idea how to drive here.

I looked sheepishly at Greyson who had appeared beside me.

"Do you mind driving?" I chuckled. He smiled and shook his head, making the raindrops fall off his beanie covered hair. I smiled and handed him the keys. He took them and opened my door.

"Thanks," I winked again and slipped inside. He immediately shut the door, and I could see the prominent blush on his cheeks as he took residence in the drivers seat.

"Goodness," he chuckled as he adjusted the seat.

"Sorry," I laughed as he adjusted the mirror. He shook his head with a smile as he started the ignition.

We were driving for awhile before we finally stopped in front of a nice small Italian restaurant. I smiled over at Greyson and we both got out. He grabbed my hand as we walked towards the door.

"Ready Little One?"
