Ava rolls her suitcase out of the airport. You could hear the wheels on the suitcase dropping into the cracks of the sidewalks. The sound soothes as the paved road is crossed. Ava then stands across the street of the airport, waiting for her ride.
Cellphone vibrates and still on airplane mode.
"Hello?"
It's her Ryder Cab driver calling to inform her of his whereabouts.
Ava looks around to find the "RC" on the back of the 2014 Hyundai Sonata.
Right in front of her eyes, she finds the company that happens to be suspects in future crime sprees. Crimes done for no purpose, crimes of rape. Yet, Ava casually hails the cab company in hopes of getting to her dorm room back at Northwestern University.
"Are you Avalyn Miracle?"
The driver mispronounces her name, so she forcefully yet happily says, "It's Avalyn, like capital 'A', but call me Ava."
"Sorry, ms. Ava."

"No just Ava"

Ava gets inside of the Hyundai after the driver confesses that the trunk doesn't open.
This isn't her first time using Ryder Cabs. She always uses Ryder because the fare of using the university shuttle from the airport and to the dorm is more than $20 and unfortunately, Ava doesn't start working again until spring break ends.
It's Spring break, Ava spent her short vacation in Mckinney, Texas. She had went to get more research on the protests that have sparked nationwide. Ava is majoring journalism. In her words, she likes to capture the raw evidence of different cultures.
Now down the street from the airport, a red light cues conversation.
"So, what do you study?"
The harsh amharic accent ripples through Ava's ears.
"Journalism," Ava replies.
The accent eases and the driver then reveals, "I'm also a journalist."
Ava lacks excitement, perhaps from Jet Lag.
"That's wonderful, what do you occasionally write on?"
"Normally," cue the hard accent, "relationships in the entertainment industry."
Ava snaps into a mood of interest as the car accelerates on a 2 second wait after the green light appears.
"So, you like to write about people like Kim K and Kanye, Bey and Jay, Mila and Ashton?"
"Well, no. I write about the relationships that aren't as open as those relationships."
"Oh! Okay, that sounds fun, yet dangerous."
"That's apart of journalism, am I right?"
The car turns left as the GPS speaks "Turn Right"
Ava notices the wrong turn but casually ignores it.
