"Honey.. Please, kumain ka na. You've been skipping your meals since that day!"

"Mom, I already told you.. I am not--"

"Aleistine!" mariing tawag sa kanya ni Jaustin. "Ano pa bang problema mo? We already took down their businesses! They already said they are sorry. Anak, you don't need to be hard on them.. That's what we've been telling you, to not take it seriously too much. Anak,"

"Dad," she couldn't contain her pain any longer so she started to sob and sniffed.

"I almost gave him everything that I have! I almost think I was that close enough to be labeled as a perfect girlfriend! But he just fooled me knowing that I am a David! Dad.." she cried harder as she hugged her father.

"Anak, that's part of--"

"But he could have chose to broke up with me than cheating! Was that so hard to love me? What could have been wrong with me?! Was I too tight? Was I too giving him headaches? Was I not that enough for him?! I think not! I wasn't that type of a clingy! I wasn't giving him headaches! And I think I'm very much confident that I am enought for him!"

"Calm down, anak. Maybe he wasn't really meant for you.. Maybe there's something that bound to happen. Just take this as a lesson, anak. Learn from this for next time, you know already what to do. You are now more stronger because of pain.. And I am so proud of you because I know one of this days, you'll be okay."

Ilang araw pa bago naging mabuti ang pakiramdam ni Selena. And after a month, sya na rin ang nakiusap sa Daddy nya na ibalik na ang business ng pamilya nang mga taong nanakit sa kanya.

"Honey, its your birthday next week.. We already finished your upcoming party yet the invitations---"

"Mom, just send that to the--"

"Without any escort included? Its a 'no', honey!"

"Then put Kieth's name on! I am sure he wouldn't mind."

"Ok." her mom smiled at her.

"What? Mom, you are creeping me out!"

"Wala. Ngumiti lang naman ako. Fix yourself, your dad's will be home in any minute now. We're having dinner together."

Before her mom left, she called the planner to put her best ftiend's name in the invitation as her escort. She took a bathe and then met her parents downstairs.

Two days after the invitations were sent, that was two days from her birthday.. Kieth's came rushing to their house.

"You didn't informed this to me first before--"

"If you have something to go on that same date of my birthday then go! You don't need to shout at me! If you don't want to escort me, excuse me and to inform you, I'll be fine without you!" she pointed a finger as he held back her tears.

"It is not what I am pointing--"

"This is about that girl, Kieth? You are meeting her that night again? She hurt you many times and I was there comforting you even if I didn't know who was your goddamn girl! I was there when you were crying! When you were hurt and shattered! Yet you still choose her over me?" pain hit her. Realizations svcked her up! She was just his best friend. That't that!

"Hey.. Don't cry.. I promise to--"

"You better not, Kieth. It is okay without you. I know your reasons and what's important is.. you be with your girl." she turned her back.

"Selena.." he tried to stop her by holding her hand. "I will come to your birthday.. That would be your biggest and the most important birthday will ever come so I'll be there. Just wait for me, ok?"

Her big night came too soon. She looked perfect and gorgeous on her birthday. She's happy as how happy her parents were.

"You look great tonight, Selena Aleistine.." a sweet voice popped and she saw Kieth holding a red rose and handing it to her.

"Thanks.. And thank you for this flower." she smiled. She's happy that Kieth chose to be with her tonight. But she noticed that Kieth's holding his phone.

"Pumwesto na po tayo.." mando sa kanila ng organizer. It was a garden birthday celebration.. Nasa hagdan na sila at ipinapakilala na si Selena. Medyo hindi pa sila nakikita ng ibang mga guests at tanging ang organizers lamang at ang videographer at photographers ang naroroon.

May natanggap si Kieth na mensahe kaya't binasa nya ito. Agad nyang binitawan ang kamay ni Selena dahilan kung bakit nagulat ito.

"Kieth? What--"

"I am sorry! I need to go. She's leaving! Kailangan ko syang maabutan!"

"Please welcome our debutant in her most precious evening of her life as she turns into a--"

"I am sorry. Hahabol ako dito. Please understand.." then he ran away while she was struck and couldn't say a word.

"Selena Aleistine Villafuerte- David as she--"

"Please tell them immediately to not mention my escort!"

That birthday supposed to be happy but for Selena, it was ruined. It was sad and incomplete without her best friend's presence.
She felt like no one wants to stay and choose her.. She felt betrayed. She wanted to be angry and let her burst pero sino ba sya kay Kieth? Best friend lang! Ano ba namang laban ng isang mahalaga sa isang pinakamamahal, di ba?

"Anak--"

"Mom, let's not talk about what happened.." hindi nya nilingon si Aleina at nagtuloy lang humiga sa kama nya. Pagod sya sa kanyang party at malungkot sya kaya gusto na nyang magpahinga.

"Ok, if that's what you want.."

"Anak, nagustuhan mo ba ang party mo?"

"Yes, dad! Thank you so much. I am really so lucky yo have you both in my life. But, Dad, there is something I really want you to give me.."
