*a few week later*
Ever since that day in the park Shehry and I have came a few steps closer. Now we even text each other and sometimes call each other. And every time he calls me my heart skips a beat seeing his name on my phone screen.
Today is Uncle and Aunty's 25th wedding anniversary. So we are going at their place for a small gathering. Going in my closet, I took my cream embroidered salwar suit out. Looking through my shoes, I spotted beige heels.
After slipping into my clothes, applied some make up and curled my hair. After I got ready, I took one last glace, complimented myself, and went to see if the girls were ready.
I peeked through their rooms but they weren't there. Opps! Am I late again? I quickly went downstairs and saw both of them ready sitting on the couch. Nida wore a knee length black salwar suit with gold embroidery around the neck and on the sleeves while Noor wore a blue churidar with pink and gold embroidery on the bottom, neck and the sleeves, hovering a few inches above her ankle.
"Hi Guys! Ready to go?" I asked the two and both rolled their eyes.
"We have been ready like ages ago. Are you ready?" Nida cross question and I sheepishly smile.
After almost about 30 minutes we arrived at their house. Fixing my dress, I rang the bell. And as guessed, Hussain opened the door. Get ready for him tease the hell out of you Amna!
"Assalamu Alaikum" he greeted us. "Come on in" he made way and we entered.
"Wesey bhabhi," I turned to look at him. "Aap aaj bohut hot lagrahi hain." My eyes widened as I slapped his arm. "What? you do!" he defended himself.
Rolling my eyes at him, I stepped in the living and saw Uncle and Aunty sitting there with a couple of other people. "Assalamu Alaikum!" I said a loud and all heads turned into my direction.
"Arye Walekum assalam!" Aunty got up and hugged me and I hugged her back. After pulling away, she introduced me to the people. "This is my too be in daughter-in-law." A couple of aunties got up and hugged me.
"Bohut Pyari hai" some aunty said.
"Shehry ke saath buhot achi lagegi." Another aunty said and I felt my cheeks getting hot at the mention of his name.
All the uncles and the aunties started talking while we 3 of us sat there looking at each other. "Lardkio! Help karna meri zara!" aunty said as she went in the kitchen. And believe it or not, the three of us almost ran out of the room.
"Phew!" Nida wiped her forehead.
"That was awkward sitting there listening to their convo" Noor added and I agreed.
"Ji Aunty!" we entered the kitchen feeling happier.
"Yeh zara kaat do gi beta." She asked pointing at the bowl of lettuce, carrots, and other veggie.
"Ji" we all answer in unison and aunty looked at us.
"Umm main ker de ti hoon tum dono kuch aur kar lo." I stated as I took the knife from the knife stand and began cutting. Nida and Noor helped aunty out in the other things. Our time was being spent well until Hussain entered the kitchen.
"Hello beautiful ladies." He chirped as he took a seat on the table. "help chahiye?" he asked.
"Nahi. Tum jao. Help karne lago geh toh aur help chahiye ho gi." Aunty mumbled as she took the rice out of the pot.
"Hey! What do you mean by that?" Hussain asked as if he was hurt.
"What she meant was that she doesn't want you to create a mess in here and leave us in peace and let us handle." I said before aunty and everyone nodded their heads. Hussain looked at the us in in mock anger. I stuck my tongue at him and continued cutting.
