Just a regular day for me. I had gotten up at the break of dawn, as I do every morning and dragged a comb through my dirty blonde hair and threw my glasses over my sapphire blue eyes. After making myself some breakfast, I went on my morning jog through the woods. The musky scent of pine and the cool morning air blowing on my face was always refreshing. These jogs always helped me clear my head, I'm not like other 19 year old boys. My parents passed away a few years ago and I didn't have any other family that I knew of so I've been on my own living in the same empty cabin for 2 years now. Thinking about it now the only times I ever leave the cabin are these jogs and my weekly trip to the market for food. Not that I'm complaining, it's easier that way. Isolation is all I've ever known, my parents were very successful and were always too busy to play with me. I never actually knew what they did they never told me always saying "when you turn 18 we'll tell you all about the family business" whatever our family business was it sure made a lot of money because when they died a huge fortune was passed down to me.

My thoughts were forced to a halt when I noticed a rustling over to my left. Cautiously I walk toward where the sound had originated from. I was about a few miles away from my cabin and no where near town so I really didn't have many options. The sun was up now so it's pretty uncommon for animals to attack.

The scent of the forest that I knew so well was replaced with something completely out of my pallet, it was sweet like a fresh rose that was drenched in honey. The smell was so overpoweringly sweet it felt like it had just rained perfume. Just then I heard the rustling again but it was a lot closer, FUCK I think I'm done for. Swiftly and quietly I laid on the cold damp ground hoping to camouflage with my surroundings. I close my eyes tightly awaiting my fate, and listen as I hear the sound of crunching leaves and the squishing sound of someone stepping mud? Hesitantly I open my eyes and see a girl looking down at me.

"Ummm, Hello." I greeted her getting off the ground blushing from how ridiculous I must've looked. The girl didn't say anything just looked at me with her hazel eyes. She looked filthy yet she was definitely what I smelt earlier, which was the strange part. She was pretty, with long chestnut hair running halfway down her back and side-swept bangs which covered half of her face. She was probably about 5"3 with a light-medium skin tone.
"Hello? Are you alright?" I asked making an attempt to reach out to her. She just moved back a little and looked down at the spot where I was laying. I continued to analyse her. She wasn't wearing any shoes but she was wearing a gold necklace with the name June. I was about to open my mouth again but was interrupted by a soft voice which cracked slightly as if it hasn't been used in a while and out came a single word "cold." Normally I'm not one to entertain but this girl was only wearing a dress and it was probably about 4 degrees outside (that's celius btw) which is pretty normal of an autumn morning like today.
"Well, if you don't mind a walk I'll live about a mile from here." I offered trying to keep my voice soft as possible out of fear of startling her. She responded by looking up and giving me a small nod of her head. Great now I have to have a long awkward walk with a girl I just met, what am I even doing?

"I'm Ryan, Ryan Harrison. Nice to meet you." I spoke up trying to break the awkward silence I mean I was going to be walking with this girl for another 45 minutes or so.
"I'm-- I'm--" she started but for some reason couldn't continue.
"By chance is your name June?" I asked pointing towards her necklace. She looked down and stared at her necklace; she looked so confused.
"June?" I heard the girl mumble to herself "June." She said again she continued saying June a few more times before yelling "JUNE!!" it was an extremely high pitched almost a squeal, ending it with a little giggle. I shot her a confused glance and she just looked up to me with a smile.
"Yes my name is June." She said still with a smile spread across her face and her hand grasping the necklace. It's kinda weird, what kind of person doesn't know their own name? For all I know I can be letting a complete psychopath into my home. So much for having a normal day
