You Know You Have Grown as A Person When...

You know you've grown as a person when what you first reach for is your prayer rag to talk to Allah about your feelings and troubles and not the telephone to pour them in a friend's ear.

You know you've grown as a person when you fold your hands in supplication when you want something rather than telling all people about your hypothetical plans delicately painted in your mind on the canvas of a bright future you're not even sure you'd live.

You know you've grown as a person when you work harder and read more when you want these hypothetical dreams to be realized rather than staring at the moon at night only imagining with a sigh how life would be different if everything was suitable and in your favor, cursing the cruelty of this "unfair world".

You know you've grown as a person when your concern is to have a great time rather than a thousand of images of it and you can fully enjoy your days and plans without telling all people about it, posting it in every social media website bragging about how "perfect" your life is; sharing your smiles but not your tears!

You know you've grown as a person when you tell your loved ones how much you love them in a private message or a call and not on Facebook's wall. When every word you utter and every act you do is to please your Lord, satisfy your conscious, and make people around you happy. And not a person who utters every word to impress, does every act to show off and speaks every word to impress wordly creatures!

You know you've grown as a person when your priorities do not have to adjust to the parameters of "what people would like", "what all people do", and "what would people say?".

You know you've grown as a person when your ear is no longer tempted by gossips or your mouth by answering back the ignorant.

You know you've grown as person when you respect a street's sweeper as much as your boss.

You know you've grown as a person when you do not hold grudge no matter how much you're feeling hurt or offended.

You know you've grown as a person when your open wounds cannot be irritated no matter how people try to rub salt in them with their nasty tongues.

You know you've grown as a person when you wait for justice, opportunities, and happiness from Allah (swt) and not any other helpless creature.

You know you've grown as a person when your silence becomes more eloquent than your words and your smile happier than your laughter.

You know you've grown as a person when you prefer the company of yourself more than the company of people...

You know you've grown as a person when you grow closer to Allah (swt)!
