Theres a sad truth in killing any creature, one we as humans completely disregard. Life is much like a candle, appreciated and then mourned when put out. But we do not mourn such small creatures, whose lives seem meaningless or threatening to our existence. We simply go about our lives, acting as though we did not just harm and put out that tiny flame which meant enough to such a creature. Oh, such a tragedy it is, to do something and care naught for it. Oh, such a tragedy it is to extinguish that once bright flame simply for our own preferences. If it were for reason, such as protection, it would be reasonable. But as it is, we are unreasonable creatures; we humans are.
