I barely slept at all that night. I was too distracted and wrapped up in my own thoughts. As soon as morning came I jumped in the shower and got ready. I took my time, trying to waste the day away so that nightfall would come closer. Although at the same time, I was afraid of what the night might hold for me this time.

I decided to sort out all of my bills, most of them were on direct debit... except from my taxes. I was behind by two months which would have meant I would temporarily lose my protection anyway. I cut out the percentage of the bill that I would have to pay for protection and then paid the rest online. I wasn't going to spend money on something I no longer had. After that was done I tidied the whole house, but that didn't take five minutes.

I wanted to learn more about the 'conspiracy theory' that Brittany had said about. Would the werewolves really allow vampires to kill me just to get rid of me? How did Brittany get that idea? Has it happened before? I knew there was only one way to find out but I wasn't sure how to go about it. The library had all the old newspapers, but of I checked them out, the wolves would know about it. It was the same if I googled the information. The wolves could see what websites I used if they wanted to. I could just read all of the stuff at the library but it would take so long and I would need to spend days on end reading, which would take too long.

I decided that heading the library was the only way. As long as it may take, I needed the answers and I was sure that no one else would give them to me. I was glad that the weather was holding up so that I could enjoy the gentle breeze as I walked to the library. It was still only around eight or nine in the morning so people were either asleep or at work. Whichever it was, it had left the streets quiet and empty. I couldn't help it as my mind decided to wonder about what it would be like to be a creature of the night. To shy away from the sun rather than embrace it.

"Cordelia Frances will you turn around." I span around as Lisa marched up behind me. "I was calling you for ages." She pouted, falling into step with me.

"Sorry. I was in my own little world." I grinned.

"Tell me about it." She muttered, shaking her head dramatically. "Where are you going?"

"Library."

"What for? She asked. I paused for too long and she immediately caught on to something. "What are you up to? Is it vampire related?" She whispered.

"No!" That time I answered too fast.

"Oh you so aren't leaving me out of the loop now! Not after you told me everything else! What's going on?" She screeched.

"Alright! Alright! Charlie came to me last night... His friend kind of convinced him, you could say. Anyway she mentioned something about werewolves allowing vampires to kill certain humans. Ones who became a problem. Ones like me." I whispered. I didn't want anyone to overhear us, it was too dangerous.

"You serious?"

"Would I make something like this up?"

"Okay, alright so what are you going to do?"

"Well Charlie said it was just a conspiracy theory so I want to check it out for myself. Deaths are always reported in the newspapers and the library..."

"Has all the old newspapers in the archives." Lisa finished for me.

"Exactly."

"You realise I'm so helping you with this. There is literally nothing that could stop me." She practically gleamed. I just laughed and nodded. It was nice to have someone to rely on.

The walk to the library was fast and quiet. Lisa was practically bouncing around like a little child, clearly she had never done anything remotely bad in her life. We both waved to m... Our boss as well walked up the stairs into the history shelf. It was there where the library kept folders full of old newspapers, they apparently helped to shape the towns history. They were ordered in files, one for each year.
