Frank walked up the lonely road a little slowly this time because of his back pain. He shivered a bit and pulled his scarf closer. He kicked a little stone to the side and thought about where he was going. He was going to see his friend Gerard. It had been a while since he'd seen him. He was his best friend, family, his life. It had been a long time since the band broke up.
Frank still had those memories. He could never forget them. All those years of performing, playing guitar and rocking out with his best friend. All the parties, fans and best of all the music. He still listened to it. His favorite was 'The World Is Ugly' because it reminded him about Gerard.
Frank pulled out this little black bracelet. It had a guitar pick, a black heart and a small key.
"I still have this from when we were young"
Frank threw the bracelet at Gerard and kept talking about his favorite moments with him. He even remembered how their fans used to ship them. 'Frerard' they called it. There were still some strong and loyal Killjoys but most had forgotten them when they stopped making music. Now Frank just lives a quiet life at home with his wife Jamia. All the kids have grown up and left home.
Frank ran his veiny hand through his grey thinning hair. It used to be black with the occasional red. He pulled up his sleeve and saw the tattoo that he got. Memories of that day were flooding back. Frank was at the tattoo parlor with Gerard urging him to get a tattoo.
"Oh hell no", Gee said as Frank pulled him in. Gerard was so afraid of needles it was funny sometimes.
Frank got a teddy bear tattooed near his elbow with the initials G.W. right next to it. He was always his little Gee Bear.
He pulled the sleeve over it and bent down. He rested his hand on the newest tombstone in the cemetery. It was marble white and it read
Gerard Arthur Way
1977- 2057
He was a true hero
May he rest in peace
"I miss you old buddy", Frank whispered, letting his tears flow freely.
'Maybe we'll meet soon"
He placed a single red rose upon the fresh mound of dirt and stood up.
"I'll go see how Lyn-Z is doing", he said. Frank straightened his scarf and walked down the lonely road again.
Six days later, there was another fresh mound of dirt right next to Gerard. The tombstone read
Frank Anthony Iero
1981-2057
A truly talented man
May he rest in peace
The two friends were reunited at last.
