Olivia couldn't register just how long she had been running after this mysterious man she had only previously met, but knew that she was growing tired. Her limbs ached with every movement she produced, and her lungs were raspy with lack of oxygen flow. She continually ran, her bones weak and her blood warm.
After a while, Olivia no longer took in her surroundings. She could recall corridors of bursting colours, with vibrant spectrums, and others with nothing other than the pureness of the most opaque white.
She was on the verge of giving up, of abandoning her chance due to pain and difficulty.
Until the nameless man rounded the corner and came to an abrupt halt.
They had come to a door of the darkest shade of burgundy one would ever come by.
Olivia turned to him, puffing and wheezing for breath, whilst he stood there, completely unfazed, and staring down the door, as if his eyes would unlock it and hold the passageway to escape.
To her surprise, it actually did do just that. The door clicked open slightly, begging them to enter whatever awaited them on the other side.
He opened the door for Olivia, who was second guessing the intentions of this man she hardly knew. She entered, despite her queries.
She stepped out into sunlight, and felt the unfamiliar burn of it's rays.
Olivia took in her surroundings, and found herself standing in what appeared to be a deserted parking lot.
She heard a voice behind her.
"Come. We've got more running to do."
Olivia exhaled.
"I'm... so... tired." She managed to project, through tired breaths.
"Olivia, I know. But, for your wellbeing, we've got to run. They're after us. I know you're confused, we'll have time for questions later. But we have to run."
When he said her name, chills erupted down her spine. She didn't say anything.
She ran.
