In the dark depths of one of the hunter hideouts stood Alice and her leader who had wings that were almost pure white to her but she knew there was a darkness to him. However, he was the one to bring her solace and told her exactly who was responsible for the accident ten years ago. Those damn Lords of the Underworld, how could they have done that to an eight year old and leave her for dead with a vampire. A vampire who gave her life when she should have been dead like the rest of her family. But now wasn't the time to dwell in the past when she was in the presence of her leader. She could later when she went to find the demon she tried to kill earlier, she looked to her leader putting her hands behind her back looking him dead in the eye.
"I am deeply sorry for what I did and how I acted today Galen. I momentarily forgot we can't kill them just yet, not until we get the box." Galen looked to Alice and put his hand on her shoulder.
"It was an honest mistake, my dear. You want to avenge your family, But Demmonta, I'd advise you to not do that again. Otherwise there will be consequences." Galen said looking at her with his own cold stare. Alice stared at Galen not openly showing her fear, but mentally she cringe at the idea of what damage he could inflict upon her.
"I understand sir" she said in a respectful voice.
"That's a good girl, now bring me the girl Annilise! I need to see her" Alice blinked and nodded her head.
Alice had briskly turned from Galen after nodding and left the room, heading down the hallway, towards the direction that Annilise's room was located. Annilise, the girl that was found two years previous before Alice's arrival was found clinging to her life by a thread with no family. She was told by one of the other hunters that they had tried to train her but she refused to fight. Now Alice had noticed since she's been here, that all Annilise ever did was just stay in her room silently.
Once she arrived at the door, Alice gently knocked on the door knowing that the young fifteen year old was clearly terrified of them all, but for some reason she would sometimes let her in,
"Annilise I'm going to come in I hope you're decent." she spoke kindly to the young female through the door.
"Yes I am... Come on in Alice." at this invitation Alice walked in, to find the girl sitting near the wall, her knees were pulled up against her chest and her blue hair was slightly curled around her shoulders. The girl looked up with concerned purple eyes that were wide.
"Galen wants to see you, hun." at this Annilise backed into a corner further,
"Do I have go to him?" this had always broke Alice's heart and she slowly nodded her head,
"Yes I am sorry to tell you but you have to or I'll be in trouble... I promise I will get you out of here one day." Annilise sighed and nodded,
"O-okay... I'll go... only because you asked me to" Alice gave the girl a smile and took her small hand, she was still only a child.
Alice had returned with Annilise going to the room where she left her commander to wait for her return. As the female walked through the entryway she had a very timid child behind her who simply looked down trying to keep her distance as much as possible from Galen. Alice noticed this and she gave a sigh knowing she hated being in her leader's company but there wasn't a thing she could do about it (not without getting kicked out of the hunters team anyway).
"I have returned with the female, sir." Alice had said as she walked through the door stepping to the side.
"Thank you Demmonta, now go to your usual post outside that door" Galen said upon their arrival. He then reached out towards the timid female grabbing her by the wrist and placed a hand underneath the female's chin with a smirk, "I am not going to do what I usually do to you. You seem too scared right now... Maybe I will have you clean this entire headquarters from top to bottom that seems to be the only thing you human females can actually do right..." he said as he shoved Annilise to the ground on her hands and knees. This was the last thing that Alice had seen before she stepped out of the room shutting only slightly leaving it slightly ajar so she could listen in on everything that was going on.
As Alice stood outside the door she could hear Annilise's soft response to Galen before the sound of shuffling feet sounded. She crossed her arms feeling sorry for the child since she was so young and she shouldn't have to worry about an abusive relationship at this age, but even then she knew Annilise didn't love Galen, she was only there for Galen's sick desires. As Alice stood outside the door which was slightly ajar she heard Galen speak in a growl, though she didn't quite hear what he said. What followed after that caused Alice to gasp because Annilise's voice cried out in pain.
"Learn how to Sweep you pathetic excuse for a human girl!!" his voice was filled with rage.
Alice couldn't handle the screams of the poor child, a deadly anger rose from the pit of her stomach her hands had balled up in fists as she continued to hear the pained cries. Her fangs elongated with her rage. The hunter female soon couldn't take it anymore and she snapped, her eyes became slitted and she almost seemed like a demon with how her eyes looked. Flinging open the door she glared in at Galen, as he moved to strike her again with a wooden handled broom. Alice ran to the two punching Galen in the face, hearing a satisfying crunch of his nose before she roughly grabbed Annilise and took her away from the man.
"You are being no better than those Lords of the Underworld jerks at the moment!!" The vampire female said as she grabbed Annilise and took her away from the hunter headquarters and ran off running away as far as possible. Alice knew this entire headquarters like the back of her hand and she could find hiding places that even her leader didn't know about. Stealthily she made her way out the front door. After this little fiasco with Annilise she was never going to be a hunter again so she might as well enjoy her freedom for as long as she had it before the hunters went in search for her head.
